2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

But the light grows brighter!
Just wait till they get yours in and all the emails about your truck start coming. One of the messages sent me to the Ram app, the truck was added and you can track it on the map, lock and unlock the doors, blow the horn, start it, turn it off, flash the lights, see how much fuel is in it, set a limit on the speed , see your tire pressure, all kind of stuff..
Another email will list all the features with instruction videos…

If you haven’t bought a fuel cap yet go ahead and order one. I got a sinister diesel cap off Amazon

They don’t have a fuel cap, just a red plug . You pay this kinda money for a truck and doesn’t have a fuel cap, that’s pretty pathetic..

Definitely a first for me.. makes zero sense.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it has been a thing since 2018. My assigned 2018 Dodge Charger, and my now assigned 2018 Chevy Tahoe have no gas cap. It is integrated into the door that closes on the filler. It has a rubber seal that seals the gas filler when you close the door.

I have a special spot in the attic of the shop with all of the goodies I have been collecting. Still plenty of room up there and a few months to go until Nikki gets here. She is a short wide hipped sort. Here are some of the things I have collected that I can remember.
1. 52 Gal Titan Tank
2. 12" screen protector
3. S&B Cold air intake
4. Bedrug mat
5. BAK Revolver bed cover
6. DEF and diesel caps
7. Steering wheel cover
8. RAM door striker covers
9. Steering wheel cover
10. Ram center console cover w/ pockets

I am looking for some good seat covers for the front buckets, anyone have any suggestions? I have seen some that seem okay on Amazon with molle bags on the back. I am eyeballing them but have not gotten committed yet.

Supposed to take delivery tomorrow, in my driveway.

Has anybody else who had a home delivery tipped the drivers?

Ordered 20-Apr-2022, a 2022 5500 CREW CAB CHASSIS 4X4 (197.4 in WB - CA of 84 in) (DP0L94).
POC and Monroney sticker attached. 3C7WRNFL9NG319935
Was in production 18-Jul-2022 with estimated delivery 28-Aug-2022.
Was built 19-Jul-2022, and estimated delivery went to TBD.
Any idea how long until it gets shipped or delivered?
Thanks in advance for any insight you may have!

Just 2 days? You haven't ordered enough stuff yet. I'm estimating at least 4 days for the stuff I got. (Seriously though, I could probably do it in 2 days, but I'm going to try and pace myself because once I put the stuff on the new truck, it is probably going to be a while before I have the time and budget for more) I like to have a 'job well done' alcoholic beverage after the completion of each project as well, so that should help me stretch things out.

Good luck, have fun, and enjoy the new ride!

My 18 has a cap… Looking at my buddys 21 it just has a red plastic plug in the spout and just a regular fuel door like they’ve always had

My 2022 RAM 2500 Big Horn came with a Fuel Cap. Are we talking just the Diesel Trucks? I mention this because you state your 2018 Charger and 2018 Tahoe didn't have fuel caps.

I know the RAM diesels do not. What year they started that I do not know.

The 2018 Charger (gas) did not have a fuel cap and my 2018 Tahoe (gas, picture attached) does not have a fuel cap.

Unfortunately there is no answer to that question. It is a crap shoot at best, and whether the stars, planets and moon align in your favor. My truck was built on 5/19, then sat at the outside vendors for 58 days (the whole while I watched trucks built after mine get loaded on a train and delivered) before it moved in to the line for shipment. I anticipated another 2 months waiting on a train, when suddenly I was on one in 4 days. The tracker can and will change, sometimes all in one day. My estimated delivery date was always TBD until the minute it was loaded on a train.

My company uses drivers from all over like uship, carriers, trucks, and everything you can imagine. When I started the company I tipped a few times but they were dumbfounded. Came to realize tipping hasn't really migrated to that industry in any form. Now I just thank them for the wear and tear on their truck and space on their trailer with a check.

*************

MSRP: I think everyone understands this. Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price. An inflated price to gain the most profit on the product and usually inline with other like products. IE, GM Products vs RAM products.

Dealer Invoice: What the dealership pays the manufacturer for the automobile. Roughly 11-12% below MSRP

FWP is Factory Wholesale Price. Roughly 7% below MSRP

FFP is Friends and Family Pricing. Roughly 8% below MSRP

EP is Employee Pricing. Roughly 11% below MSRP

Dealer Hold Back is. An amount manufacturer returns to a dealer after the auto has been sold. If I recall these are Factory Incentives to encourage the dealer to sell as many autos as possible. Dealer Hold Back on my $60K RAM Big Horn was approximately $1750.00. Therefore if the dealer sold you the vehicle for Dealer Invoice they still make $1750 on the sale. Not bad for a few hours of work.

Now let's talk about BDI or Below Dealer Invoice. Yes! It is possible to purchase a vehicle below Dealer Invoice as I did using a Tread Lightly Incentive where I was able to purchase my truck at 1% below Dealer Invoice. I was also lucky enough to obtain an additional $500 deduction using Pentagon Federal Credit Union since I'm a member.

This is really helpful information. Thank you for sharing. I do have some questions if you have time to address.

Some dealers are doing quite a bit off MSRP. I haven't closed yet but in my case Koons is doing 6% off invoice and price protection with a deposit (and if I don't get that when I close I'll be sure to let everyone on here know but it looks like I should get it like everyone else has). When I calculate percent off MSRP that puts me at around MSRPx0.87(roughly). So if dealer invoice is 10-11% I am really only getting a couple percent under invoice in reality? Plus they get the hold back from Stellantis? So in reality they really make around $3000-4000 on this right?

But what if dealers are selling for almost 12% under msrp like MD ? I’m sure they are still making money, not as much , but make up for that in the volume they sell.
