2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Back story I placed my order back on 3/24/22 and have been sitting in D1 for sometime now. I had a estimated scheduled build date of 6/11/22 which has come and gone and my estimated build day remains the same to this date. Fast forward to this morning I woke up this morning to a voicemail from my dealer….

“Good morning Mr. _____ this is David with Southpoint dodge I’m the inventory manager here the reason for the call is Chrysler asked us to reach out to all of our customers that ordered a vehicle just to verify that you're still moving forward with that order on your 3500 longhorn if you could give me a call back and just let me know your if you are still moving forward with the order. Thank you”

I guess my twice monthly call in to the dealer to keep up on the status of my order has gone unnoticed. Of course I confirmed my interest in my purchase.

That being said I find it odd that Chrysler wanted the dealer to check and see if I still wanted them to continue the special build. I haven’t seen to many posts in the form since March that reflect any similarity to Chryslers request. Must be coming up on the end of production for MY22 and they want to speed things along.

Never post here but very informative forum. Thanks for keeping things real while we all patiently wait out the time.
That is odd.

@G'Dave.... When I chatted with Sandy on 10.1, the power fold mirrors were available on a Laramie. Then I went to order the truck on 10.28 and they were not. I chalk that up to the crap show we are now living in. One day something is available, the next it may not be. I've got a number of friends who own businesses and we have all come to that conclusion with supply chain issues. One owns a number of pizza joints. He mentioned last weekend that he never thought it would be so tough to get materials to put together a pizza! It will certainly be interesting to see what happens to options in MY23. Depending on what happens, I've got half a notion to check on one in a few months.
Over here we saw some supply chain problems easing earlier in the year. Then fuel prices hiked and there were other problems. I am happy to say it seems like we've settled down for the moment. What is upsetting is the covid excuse still being used to mask (pun) things like laziness, poor planning, low understanding/education. When there are local issues at an establishment I often think "its not that there was a sweeping respiratory virus from 2 years ago that you don't have enough servers...you don't know how to run your restaurant." That was my long form way of saying I might want to also order a 23 after the 22 arrives LOL

Yeah, getting pretty fed up with the COVID excuse. I work as an electrician and that excuse may have been valid 6-8 months ago. Building supplies are plentiful but builders are still blaming supply issues and covid. The actual problem is that demand is high and no one can get enough bodies that are willing to work. I too am questioning my decision to accept this 22 model. At the point that I take delivery, it will be a previous year truck and will be ready to tuck into my garage for the winter. If there aren't some incentives, I may say screw it and order a 23.

Right, nothing makes sense anymore and literally anything can happen (or not happen) in this crazy mixed up timeline.

Another week and no change, I'll take that as a good thing. Happy to see so many folks getting their trucks.

@matemike ... mine was a crap show. It sat built in Saltillo 68 days. Sandy emailed me one morning and said it was still setting and did not now what the hold up was. An hour later she calls and asked if I got the email. I said no, she replied with "good, please disregard it, your truck was loaded on a train yesterday." The next day she emails me with news that it was unloaded in Port Allen. I just commented that must have been the fastest train ever. She just laughed. Bottom line is that no one knew where the truck was, when it was really loaded but they did know when it was unloaded.
Good Luck with the shipping of your new truck!
Thanks. Mine sat in Saltillo for 105 days. So I’m already in full swing of the crap show. However, several sources confirmed my truck arrived at PA on July 3. No telling when delivery to MD will be though. But the ram tracker recently updated to a sooner date. That’s all.

Sitting at D since 3/26, I suppose I am slightly relieved that my truck isn't just sitting down there in the desert waiting for a ride for months. But, then again, I would like my dang truck at some point.

My truck was shipped June 23 and was showing a delivery for July 18 to MD this whole time.
Until today the delivery jumped up to July 15 (tomorrow). Has anyone else experienced a delivery jumping to sooner? I’ve seen many pushed back, but none moved to sooner. Just wondering g if it’s a false hope.
After ready thru a few posts like this one, I checked the RAM tracker today and my estimated delivery date changed fron 25 July to 18 July. Definitely a different trend from previous months where delivery dates were getting pushed farther out than originally stated.

I think the key word in the delivery process & for the other phased as well, is "estimated". As others have commented here that there are several variables within each phase that effect the amount of time a truck goes thru the order process. To keep my anxiety in check I put a window or a date range of 2 weeks on both sides of any date on the tracker or from my dealership and so far I haven't gone crazy, just a few more gray hairs.

To carry on my favorite quote from this forum - "Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride".

Bro, i got you. Same situation for me, 4/19 order still no movement from D. But according to spreadsheet, you already had D1 on 6/2?

I get that logic but I wouldn't dump the 22 for the main reason that prices have changed a good bit. At least from when I ordered in January it looks close to 10% higher sticker price. I'm not a betting man but we can all agree the 23 will be even more. Unlikely that you'll see any real utility from the 1 model year change but you'll certainly pay a serious premium for almost nothing added. Maybe I am too optimistic but I think those of us who have 22's on order are getting the last of a "value" proposition.

I re ran my order on the build page again yesterday and now there are other relations/restrictions although BSM is a choice now, Ramboxes are no longer an option and if i want LED or Level C it defaults to DRW. so i can no longer compare msrp adjustments :-(

I forgot to mention that in my rant above. One of the main reasons I went Laramie was AC seats. At the moment you cannot get a Laramie with AC seats. You can get AC seats on a Limited Longhorn but you cannot get a Limited Longhorn without 2 tone paint. So my single tone Laramie with AC seats may not even happen in a 23. I gotta stick it out on my 22 and get a 23 later if I end up needing that.

OK that stinks . Because I wanted the Laramie with AC seats as well (want the front bench seat) I could be talked in to the Laramie Longhorn but do NOT want the two tone paint. This is very frustrating.

I'm not sure if that is true. I don't remember the website showing ventilated seats on the package lists when I ordered, but going through all the recent builds they all seem to have it. It was included in Laramie A when I bought and I am struggling to find an EL with a laramie package that doesn't have ventilated seats.

Mark it down!! It's real and I'm on the way to go get it as we speak.

The 02 has served us well. Bought it new off the lot with some hail damage for $27k. 20 years and 136,xxx miles later I’m ready for the 2022 to finally show up…..but I’m gonna miss the old girl.

Feeling a little nostalgic and anxious…..
