2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Mike MacDonald emailed back this morning. 19 Feb order and 27 Apr build . So if the last few gents had their trucks shipped two days after he reached out, I should be getting a shipped notice this week. Hope it finally ships after 176 days waiting to ship.

did he say he was having his logistics team look into it or find it?

Serious 2022 question. How many of you with the U Connect system plan on using the U connect app for remote functions like remote start and vehicle tracking?
I had the system, it was pretty cool. Very much liked being able to lock/unlock or start the truck without concern for distance from the vehicle. It was also cool to be able to see where it was. I watched it like a hawk when it had to be dropped off for service. When it wasn't free any more it was not all that cool. The price point would have to be somewhere around $50 per year for me to buy in. The stuff it would do was neat, but there was nothing that was of great benefit to me.

Are you being hit with the dealer market adjustment on your ordered vehicle
I think that varies by dealer. Before I put a deposit down at Grangers for my truck, I had it in writing that my price was locked in. The truck did take a price increase before it was delivered, but I only paid the originally negotiated price. So that seems to say that the dealers adding on those increases are just gouging their customers.

Not me. They had me set it up and install it at the dealer, but I don't intend to ever use it, let alone pay to keep it.

Funny you mention this, i was literally looking at my dealers website this morning for curiosity sake and my 5500 laramie is on there as a for sale vehicle "in transit though" i presume they do this to all ordered vehicles to create a line of interested people incase people walk, OR just as click bait to get someone talking to a salesmen. Anyway my truck is listed on their website for 6,000$ more than i paid, and is listed as " on sale ! "

This is where my confusion is though, here in canada anyway.... from what ive been told by a dealership owner is its illegal for dealers to sell a brand new vehicle for more than MSRP. They can go below that number but never over. Used vehicles are a completely different story though. So by that logic, since june when i ordered, have these truck prices increased 6000$? And WOW! did i ever make a smart decision ordering when i did, interest rates are almost 7% up here now, i think i ordered when it was 4.4%. Stupid me shouldve ordered when they were 2.9% a month earlier.

Ford has been on their dealers, trying to get them from charging over MSRP for them. I hear they issued all kinds of threats. Not sure if it's working or not. But I don't think it's illegal here.

You should be able to compare the MSRP from when you ordered your truck to the window sticker when it arrives to see how much they've gone up.

hah! also heard that about ford this morning. I follow that JB reviews on youtube, Ram guy. And he was trying to buy a 22 F450, but the dealer was charging 26,000$ OVER Msrp. Said the best the dealer would do is 20,000$ over MSRP.

So ya as of right now my window sticker is 91,935$, and they have my truck listed on their website for basically 98,000$, so basically 6035$ more than i paid. I bet their hoping i walk! Its supposed to have rolled into the rail yard today, which is 2.5 hrs from dealer, so hopefully iam only 2 weeks out or so

Yea I Called several ford dealers looking for a new truck before I ordered a ram in August and they all wanted at least $5000 over MSRP and the dealer I ordered my ram from gave me $4000 off MSRP so one reason I am switching to ram. Just got a message from my sales man that my truck is in production now so hopefully I get it before the end of the year.

You can get MSRP from Ford but only if you order it. If you buy it off the lot, or pick up a unit that someone walked away from its 10K+ over MSRP
One, I love RAM. Two, the exhaust break is WAY better on a RAM. Three, RAM interior is much better. Four, the inline 6 due to the up and down motion of the piston, lasts longer than a V style engine.

Local dealer has $10k dealer adjustment on all trucks, I printed the window sticker as soon as it was available, they said since I ordered it and isn't a " stock" unit the markup shouldn't apply. Can't afford to add that to the price with new interest rates

I 100% agree, i test drove a F450 lariat just simply for curiosity sake. It was a relatively nice truck, although still a ton of plastic, and the fit and finish i felt was poor. Driving positioning just didnt.. hug? me like a ram does, and the center stack seriously looks like thomas edison had input on it, super dated. I was glad i took it for a drive though to just reaffirm that ill always drive a ram. They were 4,000$ more right off the hop for a lariat 5500 vs laramie 5500 for what felt like a downgrade, and dealer had zero interest in moving on pricing and almost treated me like i couldnt be serious ordering a 100k truck, which i despise. I will give him this though, he did call about a week after we talked to see if i was still interested in an order, and i had said sorry! threw in an order on a ram 5500 the second i left your office.

Sure makes a person wonder how someone would walk in off the street and be ok paying 20,000$ over MSRP, even if you NEEDED the truck that day. To me thats nothing short of blatent robbery for what i feel is a less superior product. My father inlaws 22 GMC at4 is 10x the truck that ford i test drove was.

another funny note! and why i just simply dont trust dealers.... i had mentioned before that i may walk in with 0, 5, 10,000$ to put down maybe, they keep plugging me to see if i am putting anything down constantly. I find this odd, and i almost never put money down at signing because iam wary that that actual amount is going down on the principal and not into dealerships pockets, i always put my cash down directly to the bank after signing. I think at this point after ordering so many trucks/trading them in ive heard every excuse, and seen so many tactics. More often than not, there certainly not there to get YOU the best deal, just curious how far youll bend over. Iam also guilty!

Not that we need any further proof that the order tracker is questionable, I still find it interesting that it still shows my truck as in transit (delivered yesterday). Curiously, it updated this morning to say my delivery date moved up from 10/21 to 10/19

Oh they are scum. I bought a Toyota from Reinhardt Toyota in Montgomery AL right after i got out of basic in 93. we worked a deal on a purchase price, then they convinced me to lease it. A year later when I went to buy the truck, they had changed the numbers to MSRP. I called the dealership and they stated I should have double checked the numbers. They were right and i learned an expensive lesson. Since then I have seen it all. Its enough to wonder how sales people dont end up dead on a dirt road somewhere. The are just crooked, dirty, lying, mentally disturbed Narcissists. There is no worse human on earth that a car salesman. No ethics, morals, or conscious. I would rather order direct from RAM than have with dealership scum.
So know this. take you calculator, know the auto sales tax in your area, double check them, check their math. Do your own financing or at least know what the going rate you qualify for. They lie cheat and steal. Ive seen them add 2 points to an interest rate to make backend money. Ive caught them increaseing the sales tax collected for an out of state purchase. Just nasty humans. Dont trust them.
