2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

So I received several emails after the truck arrived, XM which I went ahead and added the dually to the family plan.
The next is the hotspot, do you need that for the Ram Connect to work ? I do like that feature but not sure what it takes for it to work
This is my understanding of it. 1) It's a subscription thru AT&T to allow you and others to use your trucks hot spot to connect to the internet. 2) It's only 4G capable. 3) it's not needed to make Ram Connect work, it's a add on option.

Just checking in, been hanging on other threads more now. It is worth the wait! This truck has more 'Easter eggs' than the Energizer bunny! I keep discovering the neatest details, latest the trailer light check function. And that backup camera line and view angle let me line up that ball first try.

By the way, just throwing it out there, we Silver Billet and Del Red 3500 NE dually owners OBVIOUSLY picked the best looking RAM ever... there's a model to prove. Just sayin':)

Curious what are your post delivery threads.

I had the hotspot for a short time. ATT is useless in most of Wyoming. If you live in a larger city or on a freeway maybe it will work for you. ATT is the only carrier choice, a source of frustration. When I stopped the service distant remote start no longer worked. When I called about it, number on Uconnect screen, getting a understandable answer was difficult and inaccurate. You don’t need it for basic services. Has anybody tried to hook up through a different carrier. I would be very interested if it worked.

Well the day finally came yesterday… I took delivery of my 2/16 order!

A few quick notes for those who are still waiting…

Koons is a good dealership but if you are taking a trade you better buckle up cuz you have NO ground to stand on. They know you waited 6+ mos for the perfect truck and will make more money if you walk away since they no longer have to honor the agreed sales price. To say myself and the sales manager butted heads would be a big understatement. I ultimately took my truck but I got slaughtered on my trade. Something that I feel would not have been the case had I picked a truck off the lot and I could simply walk away.

They also padded their rates by 1.5-2% on in house financing. I know this because my wife and I have been in the industry before and all rates provided were much higher than all openly sourced rates. With me being “A” paper they basically tried to get more profit from the deal on the back end. I will be refinancing in a few days.

As for the PDI… do one yourself!!!!
At least 30% of the under hood fuses were not completely seated. There were 3 minor dents in the hood. And lastly the PPF that is placed on the leading edge of the dually ferrings was missing from the drivers side.

All is well and I am happy with the truck but had I been in another state that allowed for sales tax credit through a private sale, I would have made out a lot better. The sales tax savings was another thing the dealer had over my head.

Ok end rant… thanks to all who have kept me sane throughout this process.

That sucks! I don’t know why they didn’t tell you but Chrysler financial has 0% for 3 years and 2.9 for five right now until at least 9/6.

This is the first negative if heard about this dealership. Seems everyone has been talking they got 10-12% below MSRP. Dealers do often offer less than reasonable $$$ for your trade, as this is usually where they make back end profit they lose on the sale of the new vehicle. It's a give and take scenerio and works very well for those who do not do their research.

Dealers are trained to identify the weakness in customers who don't come to the dealership armed with knowledge. (I'm not stating you did) Just general knowledge for the future forum member who will be taking delivery soon.

Before I even walk on a dealerships lot (Even just to browse) I already know the percentages to calculate to arrive at Dealer Invoice, FFP and EP pricing compared to MSRP. I have already identified any special finance offers associated with the manufacturer as well as financing rates with outside banks, credit unions, etc. Dealers will always jack the finance rate up a couple % points if they can get away with it.

I also know the wholesale, retail, private party sale and dealer trade in values of my current vehicle.
Yes! Many dealers want to make you believe because of the economy customers will pay MSRP+ and there are many who can and will pay whatever the cost. I'm middle class so can't afford to just pay cash for everything therefore do my research.

Thanks for providing your sales experience as I think it will help others navigate the sales process regardless of the dealership they use for their purchase.

BTW That's a very nice looking truck!

Been built since 7/22 and I have no movement. It’s not going to ship right away as many others have experienced. The shipping could be 2 weeks or way beyond that. The dealer really doesn’t seem to have much control

Mine set in Mexico several weeks after being built.
The dually rolled out to the yard in May and didn’t land at the dealer till the very end of July.
I somewhat felt fortunate because others that ordered before I did in February were and some are still waiting for their trucks to land.
I understand completely, I’ve been there, but you just have to be patient.
Salesman have no control when it’ll arrive, a lot of factors come into play during the whole process.

The paperwork I signed with Koons said that if you use incentivized Chrysler Capital financing the price goes up by $1000. I figured that’s what I’d do since 2.9%/60 months is about as good as you’re going to get and it’s worth financing the extra $1000 on the front end for the savings over the term of the loan. Did you ask Koons to find out what Chrysler Capital was offering?

I do need to trade in my 2021 Ram 1500 but I figured going in that Koons would bend me over on that. I’ll see what they offer but I pretty much resigned myself to selling it to CarMax. Sure, you’ll get less than if you sell private party, but it is so much more convenient than dealing with tire kickers, test drives, and all that.

Also, how long after your truck shipped did it take to show up at Koons? Mine shipped last week and I’m trying to get a feel for when it’ll be ready for delivery.

Yea the Chrysler Capital would have been ideal but it wasnt offered. I will take ownership of not knowing incentives prior to walking into the war room but they played dirty plain and simple.

I should make it clear, I would do business with Koons again… The only part im not happy about is the trade in value. The finance rate is an easy fix by bringing your own or refinancing like I intend to do.

As for shipping… see my order tracker for my specific timeline

Where did you see that Chrysler Capital is offering 2.9%/60? The only incentive I see on their website is 0%/36.
