has anyone swapped led to halogen headlights on the newer rams? I have knowledge about headlights and leds. just curious about plug and if there is any programming before spending the money. thanks

Use the search button it has been covered tons, also are you saying You have LED now want the halogen? Thats what your question reads as

Woo, we’ll you’ve got a willing swap prospect right here if you want to do a trade + cash on my side. My halogen fixtures are in great shape.

The stock halogen headlights with factory bulbs are downright awful, sorry.

The stock halogen headlight with an aftermarket bulb, are surprisingly good.

Nowhere near the LED headlights though.

Have you had a Ram with LEDS? Not being a smart@ss, just wondering what you’re comparing to.
I think its pretty clear i referred to every other ram i have owned over the last 30 some years, yes the LEDs are nice (i almost bought one that had the LEDS but it was too nice for a work truck) but the Halogens are not bad by any means. I may have a different idea of what good lighting than you because the lights on my plow are no better than candles so when i take the plow off these halogens light up tons

Sorry I wasn’t up to speed on all your other trucks. My apologies.

I just did this swap. I thought the halogen low beams were mediocre. brights were decent. the reflector led housings are a very worthy upgrade. they're fantastic.

I did run some led bulbs in the halogen housings. xrays, good lawd they were bright. too much dispersion.

the light output on the integrated leds from factory are far below par from what ive ran on past trucks with swapped led bulbs. ya they are great if you've never had them before in other vehicles. the bulbs I've supplied to my customers over the past 3 years are just far superior in distance, brightness and dispersion.

Soooo you are wanting to swap from your LED to the halogens? In order to run aftermarket LED's in the halogen housings?

Also you must be the only person ever to say the OEM LED's are sub-par - regardless of if they are the projector or reflector type.

everyone has their own preferences about what's best about light output and brightness. the thread was about hooking up and if there was any programming involved. any knowledge on that would be appreciated
