2022 HD Crowdsourced VIN/Order Tracking

I am seriously considering going to a second dealer and putting a second order in for the same truck. Then cancel the order for the one that doesn’t come first citing extreme duress netting my deposit back.

Apparently June 14th was just too early to order a 2022 3500…. This is comical.

If it wasn’t for the big price hike we would get hit with I would have already done it.

I got my window sticker this morning, but equipment listing won't come up. I thought the equipment listing was supposed to come up first and then the window sticker shows once the truck ships? Either way, I'm happy there was movement.
EDIT: the equip listing populated. I just expected it to show days before the window sticker.
That does seem weird. In my script I don't even bother looking for the window sticker if the equipment listing isn't available. I had thought equipment listing was always available first.

My previous post gave some detail on this. The build sheet will always come first and show up the day after the truck went down the assembly line but they are never posted on the weekend. So a truck built on Friday doesn't get its build sheet until Monday. However, window stickers show up 7 days a week the evening the truck is completed. So, possible scenario here. Your truck started on Friday, was completed and passed final QC on Sunday, got its window sticker but wouldn't have a its build sheet until the following day on Monday. This happens every weekend on the RAM trucks I am tracking.

Does anyone know how long train transport to the east coast has taken historically? I'm getting regular updates from the dealer; it seems the truck moves about one state per day. The truck is going to Baltimore via train then wait around for truck transport to go the final 49 miles to the dealer...I wish we could just eliminate that final leg as it's expected to add unnecessary delay and I need the truck by 15 Oct for a cross country long haul trip.

Im starting to feel like if you ordered before Aug 9 you will be the last to get your truck lol

2500 Laramie 6.4 Night Edition pearl white all tech sunroof, went into D1 today, email from Ram and dealer confirmed, ETA 10/13
Really hope mine comes in that time frame. Before Oct 21. I'm trying to go on vacation lol

We figured that out a while ago. Stelantas has completely backburnered us preorders made all the way back in may and june. It would be nice if they would make it right with us but they wont. Sadly this will be my last built to order truck from ram.

They're not just doing it to screw us. Based on what I'm seeing I'm convinced there are real shortages of specific components that are holding up some trucks. And with the changes to the packages and availability of certain options, they have been able to steer people toward lesser optioned trucks. From what I see, they're starting to build trucks with those options now. But it's not all that fast. And they have a long backlog to build through.

To summarize, I think they're building the most profitable trucks they can given the parts they have available.

There's a lot more to it than trim, cab, engine, paint color.

Yes and no on the parts available. From what im seeing, its more money for less options...its how can we make the most money the fastest. I wasnt saying they are trying to screw anybody over, but when you have customers that are waiting close to 6 months, and you keep back burnering them it leaves a bad taste and they should make it right

Yes, it is more money for less options. But those trucks are getting built because they don't have all the tech options.

They also did not appear to start production on August 9th. No surprise since they built 2021s right up to that date. And usually they have some downtime for retooling and probably maintenance. The earliest build date I see on a window sticker is 8/19. And they didn't start with high option trucks until much later than that. I bet they simply didn't have the tech option components.

It's not arbitrary.

Almost every mega built is just as techy or more than my 5/31 order

Here's some data that I'm basing my perspective on.

TO BE CLEAR: I certainly have not identified every truck which has been built. I do not think their daily production really fluctuates this much. I am constantly looking for more data/equipment listings/window stickers. In particular I am aware of a bug in my logic preventing me from parsing window stickers which FCA returns in French. I assume these are a subset of the Canadian trucks. Those are not included in this data.

Trims by build date.
 • They did not complete any truck builds until 8/19.
 • They started with lower trim trucks.

Tech options by build date
 • Similar to trim levels, they didn't start building trucks with many of the (I think) constrained tech options until this month.

When I look at all of this data, they haven't build a single Laramie with my options yet. So I dismiss the line of thinking they they're punishing early orders or they are starting from the most recently ordered trucks and are working their way backwards.

Now, if I had ordered a techless Tradesman in June or earlier and hadn't seen movement yet, I'd be pissed.

They’ve got an issue brewing here as there is enough of us in that April-June group who get nothing but misinformation on status from dealers and RamChat. The issue is reputation risk and brand damage. All it would take is for us to craft a well written post, make it from all of us, and then we simultaneously post it on Facebook and Twitter referencing Ram and various other media. We’d send copies to Motor Trend and other rags…

They would pick up a story on brand loyalists being openly punished by the brand with no information.

Before someone states this is extreme, let me remind you these dealers have our money and signed purchase agreements. All we are asking for is reasonably accurate status and truth.

Yea see just tell me the truth and it might be the end of 2022 before I get my 22 lol. The biggest thing for me is no information. If ram came out and said hey, we are doing mostly fleet with some custom orders for this amount of time I get it. It's just everytime I talk to someone no one knows nothing and tell me that no one tells them anything. I just hate lack of communication.

Bingo. That’s the issue.

Don’t get me wrong, I love all the great work ODS is doing for us but we shouldn’t have to decipher it like this. PS — thank you OfficerDirtySanchez

Poor power wagons..

ODS, is there any way to poll the xh7 option? I have a feeling it, like the xn1 is slowing most down.
