2022 Aisin Failure Tracking Sheet

Has anybody used the Lemon Law?

"The Lemon Law" is state specific.

Example; Colorado is one of the worst. If you own the truck over 1 year, you're hosed.

"Under the law, a “reasonable number of attempts” to repair a defect applies when the same defect remains after it has been subject to repair four (4) or more times within the first year after the date of original delivery. It also applies when the vehicle is out of service for repairs for a cumulative total of thirty (30) or more business days during the warranty term or one year after original delivery, whichever comes first."

Lemon laws are different in every state, but in most states they have to have repaired it 4 times or more in a month or six times total. The issue is most people can’t get it repaired the first time because no parts

Don’t know I am dealing with the same thing, ram care don’t do nothing, dealership don’t do nothing.big lesson learned by from a dealership that actually cares about customers.

OK folks, this is a thread for tracking Aisin K-1 failures, not complaining about Ramcares.

Update with truck after recall, I just towed about 20k pounds for about 550 miles round trip. No issues what so ever. These are the parts that were replaced.

If you happen to be under the truck could you snag a picture of your serial number? Blue metal tag. It says “Aisin drivetrain” on it. Six character serial number. Will be something like “2H-1234”

My transmission went out at 22K miles 200 miles from home with no warning. I was told 4 weeks ago that the parts were ready to ship, but the dealership is still waiting on multiple parts. I have a 2022 5500 that I use for my hotshot business. My truck has been down for a month with no ETA on the parts. I am currently on the 4th case manager. This is extremely frustrating as this is my 3rd Ram purchased in 5 years. I am so frustrated as this is my business and I am getting no where with anyone. Has anyone else had luck in getting the work performed?

I feel for you, I have a construction company. I had to use my old power stroke I gave to my son. I have less than 8000 miles on the darn thing. First ram ever, like the way it pulls but have never been treated so bad. Ford has always put me in a rental on their cost and have actually calls back. I don’t think I will ever buy a ram again. Even though I like the way it tows, just ain’t worth the money I lost haveing my heavy equipment towed by someone else

I agree. If they sell commercial vehicles they should have commercial vehicles for customers to drive @RamCares. I am getting no where with Ram, case manager or dealership. So disappointed, losing a loyal customer.

Shawn sorry to hear about this. You’re one of thousands. Did you get the CSN 71A notice on your truck?

I can get you on the spreadsheet if you want. Just need basic info on your truck and the failure.

No, I didn't receive the notice - completely blindsided. I bought this truck new in June 2023 when I traded in my 3500. I went with the 5500 for durability and longevity, spent $80K on the truck and $6K on a hotshot bed. 4 months later, broke down with no warning, transmission went out. Once I got it to the dealership, I was advised of the recall. I have been waiting for 4 weeks for the parts to ship. We immediately reached out to Customer Service and was assigned a case manager which has changed 4 times. We can't get anywhere and I am slowly going out of business and no income to pay my bills. I even looked into trading this in on another truck, but it will cost me another $15K to do that. Very disappointed.

You wouldn’t happen to be located in Washington state would you? Specifically Monroe Washington?

No, I am not. I live in the Midwest.

Sorry I was hoping I could connect you with an independent shop in the Northwest that can repair the truck for you immediately.
I wish we had a way to do that here. What do you need from me to add to the spreadsheet and what does that do? Any other ideas to get it fixed?

Just let me know what you need from me. Thanks.

Thanks for the update. I’ll add that info to the spreadsheet. 39 day turnaround time.

If possible could you get your transmission serial number?

Also, have you received a notice from ram for customer service notice 71A ? - which is their internal snap ring recall
Here is the serial#. Ram care called about a week after I got the truck back. I tried contacting them numerous times with no success, still waiting to get refunded for towing and can't get a clear answer. So far Ram care sucks.

Mine has not failed yet my serial number on trans is 2H-3100, so far it has been a pain getting any answers on getting it fixed and parts ordered along with getting someone to call you back. Purchased truck used with 13000 miles back toward the end of august and then the recall came out 4 days later. Truck should have never been sold to a customer with trans issue.
