2022 5500 backup camera

So I'm trying to add a backup camera to my 5500. I have a camera but it seems I need a different one or I need an adapter for the digital camera plug in the harness.

Anyone have a part number for either?

I thought the 5500 comes with a kit for the backup camera

I have the trailer 360 kit but no backup camera. I have the wire harness for it on the truck. Just need to figure out the adapter or camera with the proper plug.

I dont think you have the proper camera there i would bet you need the camera with the fakra connection (analog) not the digital one. Where did you get that camera?

@Jimmy07 can you help this guy find what he needs?

That's the only camera I could find that was for a 2022 5500. But you can't find really anything reliable online. Does the 3500 have a backup camera with the fakra connection? Is that the wrong camera connection totally?

I dont have any actual info on it but the guy i tagged knows all about these systems he is out go to guy for these questions

My 2022 5500 was ordered with the backup camera. The part numbers were:

Rear view digital camera kit 68544395AA, with cable 68544396AA and camera 68442521AA

@Brutal_HO, yah I've looked at the body builders guide on the Ram website a lot, but it doesn't appear to be up to date for a number of things. For example, I can't find anything yet on the tow mode camera. Also can't find anything on the 12 pin set up. Plus the part numbers in the write ups for the TPIS and surround view camera system don't match with what I have. Maybe there is more info available for actual upfitters?

I actually looked at both of those last night and ordered the first housing shown. It looks like it may be the best option I have for the back up camera.

Yes, but the rearview is not integrated into the surround view, only the front and side mirror cameras are.

I can't find the cable 68544396AA anywhere.

I wonder if a generic Fakra cable would work.

Ok so I got a Fakra cable and connected one of my trailer cameras to make sure it worked. Seemed to work pretty well. A couple things:
- It only showed the narrow field view option. The wide view is not selectable. Is this normal or is it camera specific?

- I activated guidelines with Alfa but it's not showing up as an option in the system settings nor is it showing any lines on the camera screen.

And ideas? Definitely better than nothing but would like to get everything out of it I can.
