2022 2500 Full Thuren Kit-Amazing Transformation

Looks and sounds like an awesome kit. Thanks for posting.
I have a few questions:
1. Does Thuren make a soft spring kit that does not raise the front 1”?
I can’t afford any more height or I won’t fit in my garage.

2. Are the rear lowering springs soft as well?

3. How much is payload downgraded with a kit like this?
I jumped into a 2500 for the payload, heck, I even opted for the gas engine because of the increased payload over the diesel trucks. For my reasons I just may not have a Cadillac ride anymore. Not a huge deal. Still loving the truck.

4. Lastly, what was the cost including all work for your new suspension setup? Not including new rims, tires, or fenders. Just the thuren kit and install?

Yup! It shook very bad from 55 to 65 then smoothed out at 70. So weird as like I said the KO2’s have performed flawlessly on more trucks and Jeeps over the years than any other tire?!? It’s almost like the compound is too soft for this large of a truck?!? It was very sluggish and unresponsive on the road. Also kept throwing weights which made matters worse. Supposed to pick up truck at 10 this morning so I’ll do a little testing, snap some pics, and report back.

The beadlocks were fine. I just found it was a pain in the ass to buy tires at DT, go somewhere else to mount them, then go deal with the craziness of DT to get them rebalanced every time they would throw wheel weights. Maddening when you are trying to run a business and satisfy the little lady in my life. I’ve got way too much stress anyway?!?
Man, night and day!?!? These tires are the real deal! Very responsive, almost like a sports car, very quiet, smooth as glass. Very impressed! Had some Trail Grapplers on a tricked out Taco I used to own and they were okay but the Recon’s are very nice!

1. They do not my friend. I was scared my truck wasn’t going to clear my carport and ended up clearing by literally 1/16”. Now doesn’t clear because I went with the 2” spring. I digress!?!?

2. Affirmative. It really didn’t lower it that much at all to my eyes!?! Never put a tape measure to it.

3. This would be a tech question for Thuren as I have not purchased my 5th wheel yet. It’s my understanding it’s minimal.

4. All in probably close to 4k but worth every penny. The sway bars, track bar, and drop links for rear sway bar are just as important as the shocks and springs with this setup.

Wow those tires look really really good! I’m glad they are smooth as it should be haha!

There is no reason a bead lock would throw a weight off any more than any other wheel. The rear lip may not be designed for clamp on weights... So installer error, and if they are using adhesive wights and they are falling off, it's again installer error. However, if you are not doing hardcore off road, there is no reason for bead locks anyways.

Yes, the beadlock was not causing the weights to throw, installer error probably played a part (however in less than a month I had 3 separate shops balance)?!? I think the real problem may have been vibration from the KO2’s. I’ve owned many true beadlocks over the last 30 years and never had problems. I was also younger then and willing to go through the “pain” of owning them and maintaining them. Tire changes, torquing bead bolts, etc. I’m just not willing to do it on this truck. I chalk it up as a bad call on my behalf as I thought they looked cool and don’t even wheel like I used too?!? Humaness and self will prevail again with a bad split second hit the buy button action. Luckily I’m in a financial position where it’s not going to force me to live in a cardboard box anymore?!? :D

So, want to give a short review of my ne Nitto Recon Grapplers after driving over 500 miles on them the last couple of weeks. I will preface that this is on-road between city driving and highway miles. All I can say is wow so far! I have been a KO2 guy for over 20 years and have had Trail Grapplers which performed pretty well. Not as quiet as KO2’s but performed pretty much the same. The Recon’s take the best of both of these tires and win in spades! Ride like you are on glass, quiet as a mouse, are flawless in rain, dry traction is amazing, truck handles like a sports car, and there were hardly any wheel weights needed on my wheels. Very, very impressed. If you are shopping for new shoes, put these on your list!

Greetings all! First post as I always like to be able to contribute first when introducing myself to a new forum. Hopefully I’ll be able to bring something to the table during my build?!?

Just added the following over weekend (Truck has 800 miles on it)

Front
Thuren 1” Front Soft Springs
Thuren Active Sway Bar
Thuren Track Bar
Thuren recommended Fox 2.0’s

Rear
Thuren 1/2” Lowering Springs w/Extended Sway Bar Links
Thuren RearTrack Bar
Thuren recommended Fox 2.0’s

This suspension has transformed my truck into a 1500 in terms of ride. It’s like a Cadillac?!?

I have lifted MANY Wranglers and other trucks I’ve owned over the years and the engineering of this kit is really hard to believe. I am not affiliated with Thuren at all (didn’t even know who they were until I started lurking around the forums) but I wil say hats off!

I am looking at the exact same set up and have had it in mu cart on Thuren site for a few days. I came across this thread..

Noticed you went from the 1" to the 2" front coils. Can you explain why?

I am currently running 35 x 11.50 Recon Grapplers on stock 20 rims. Have Thuren high clearance sway bar, no rub full lock.

I mainly run highways and am looking for a smoother ride primarily.
