2021 - Uconnect 5 Upgrade Issues?

Hey all, I’ve got a 2021 Power Wagon w/ the 8.4“ screen and was thinking of upgrading it to the 12“ screen. There are tons of great posts on that process and it seems pretty straightforward.

It seems the UConnect 5 system from the 2022’s is starting to be available on EBay and a few other places for a reasonable price though. Does anyone know if there would be any issues upgrading a 2021 truck to the Uconnect 5 system instead of the 4? Not sure if anything w/ how the system interacts w/ the auto AC, camera systems etc. etc. in the 2022 that would prevent it from working w/ a 2019-2021.

It can be done without issue, and a few of us are currently running UC5 on pre-2022 trucks.
You will need the radio module, a 2022 12” screen, the center dash bezel, a few custom conversion harnesses that I can build, and AlfaOBD. If you have the surround view camera system, you will need a different video processing module. You will not be able to transfer any current connected services over (Sirius guardian), and you won’t be able to activate any connected services. You will be able to transfer over SiriusXM radio subscription, but not Sirius travel link.

I actually have everything needed to swap from 5 inch to 12 inch however its a Uconnect 4 (not sure if its a deal breaker or not) also maybe @Jimmy07 can tell you if the harnesses he made for me will work on your truck or not (2019 3500). I ordered a new truck and have no need to install.
