Hello, I have been having intermittent issues with my TMPS sensors showing random tire (or tires) failing to read...displaying double dashes ( -- ) in place of the pressure.

When I visited the RAM dealership today, they suspect it is due to a Center Mount High Lamp (3rd brake light) leak. They suspect it is leaking on the Radio Frequency Hub (RFH) module

Known from service order:
  • DTCS has stored codes for TMPS issues
  • Scans of the individual TPMS sensors showed good battery life
  • They relearned all sensors to the RFH
  • The RFH was 'reset'
  • Leak from CMHL into RFH a known issue
  • Truck has 59k miles
    • They say this is not a warranty-able fix
They want $1350 to replace RFH, fix the leak, clean headliner and reprogram key fobs

Questions:
  1. Has anyone experienced this?
  2. Is this really not covered under warranty?

Should fall under the 3/36 as far as I’m concerned.

Lots of 5th Gen Ram 1500 owners had the leaking 3rd brake light and dealers were fixing them under warranty.

Thanks. Apparently too many miles for the warranty coverage...

Such a bummer, since they know the design sucks...

Well if it's the same design those forums offer advice on how to self repair. Basically, you just need a new gasket and lots of Black Silicone.
