My Limited (see signature) is a little over 4 years old and pretty lightly driven. I was shocked to find the dash pad is ruined and already peeling and bubbling away. My 17 year old Duramax was stored right next to it and it's still fine. Searching through this forum, and some others, I was more disappointed to find this was a fairly common issue, with a known adhesive problem. Not many of the posts list how they handled it other than the dealer. I'm in the Bay Area California, unfortunately, and the dealer prices are even worse than normal here. More importantly, I don't want to spend thousands on a repair that might just fail again soon. Has anyone has any luck with an upholstery shop fixing this issue with a material that's close? What was involved and about what did it cost? I only found one post with details, but the guy was in Germany. I fully understand the warranty on the interior is up, but for a truck that was close to $100K, it feels like RAM should have done better. Thanks.PXL_20251006_181322020.jpg

Oh, also, does anyone have the part number for the new version? Some posts state that replacing it with the same part number will just produce the same results, but the latest part has new adhesive. No one listed the part number though and I'm not seeing it on the Mopar site.

Thanks. I called today also, but haven't heard anything back. I appreciate it.

The interiors on the Limiteds are expensive.

You could try Llumars 80% ceramic tint to key the sun off of it. Should help quite a bit.

If it happened this time, it can happen again out of warranty.

I finally heard back from a dealer on replacement. $4300 plus tax. Absolute garbage on a four year old truck. I'm not sure if it's enough to go to a different brand when I buy again, but I definitely won't be getting a leather trimmed dash pad. Given how many of these are failing I really think Ram screwed us on this one. I could see if it was 10 years old, etc..

Sorry for your luck. Subscribed to see how the repair goes.

FWIW, ever since I learned what would happen to the 90's rams and their plastic dash panels (disintegration) I've been using weathertech windshield reflectors (or whatever they're called). Helps keep the interior temps much lower here in Michigan, probably would be beneficial to those in the warmer states too. I'd especially consider it once you get the current fixed.

Covercraft is the premium version of windshield sun shades.

Do NOT bother with sun shades. Waste of money. Block the sun 24/7 with this:

You protect the clear coat on top of the paint from the sun. Now it’s time to protect the interior from the sun.
