2021 3500 CCSB HO Build

Here's another piece of the puzzle. Between the grid heater delete, intake horn, and now boost tubes - I am flowing as much air as possible

I am keeping the factory air box. It's already a true cold air and flows just fine.

Are you planning on porting the head? I thought that all the factory components outflow the head in stock form?

Not to be that guy, but man those welds look like they could use some love.

Check the other thread I made for an honest review on the tubes. The welds look awful but they work lol.

Didn't think about porting the head. I'm doing more so smoother response and quicker spooling.

I'm very interested in what your experience is what that. I'm hearing mixed reviews and I'm never sure if it's people drinking the coolaid or real experience.

I'm currently in the planning process for an emissions intact build, and quicker spooling is def something I'd like to see. Waiting on someone to launch a compound setup for the 5th gens. Two companies currently have stuff in the works, DPS and ATS. Once one of these manufactures launches something my plan is to swap the OEM turbo with a taterbuilt drop in, and then whatever the add on ends up being.

There is A LOT to be had in VGT tuning to aid in spool up and that "dead pedal" that we all experience.

There are people with 4.5 gens with twins i believe they used the crazy carls tuning from the 4th gens if I'm not mistaken

Compounds would be very cool and I will definitely report back on how the boost tubes do

Yes, but not for emissions on, at least nothing built for it.

I was in talks with the guys at ATS but it required way more than I thought was worth it. 2 turbos from ATS, then a 4th gen manifold, and a 4th gen downpipe that was custom made.

From everything I've read the 5th gen body is superior to the late 4th gen, and I'd rather keep the parts more easily swappable if necessary.

There is no 5th gen HD yet… and emissions on complicates things i have never seen it done should be neat

Looks great!

All drivability improvements and no performance gains as I figured it would be. Smoothed out the boost spikes and does spool quicker. Cruising it actually dropped pressure until it's needed so there's definitely room for a bump in economy because of that. Holds boost better and is much more consistent.

Great info!!

Got my head studs and am waiting for manifold studs to get here.

Went with Xotic head studs and Fleece manifold studs.
Interested in the long term view on xotic studs. Hear hit and miss things vs ARP. Please update after you have everything sorted!

Initial impressions and packaging are great. All the threads are very cleanly machined with thread protectors on all of the studs. Comes with assembly lube and even the proper socket for the nuts.
