2020 Ram 5500, metallic noise from front

They replaced the compressor but did they transfer the old clutch onto the new one? Or did the new one come with a clutch? Does the noise go away with the A/C on and have you verified it clicks in? Something as simple as a loose drive hub nut? If you've verified it goes away with the belt off it can't be that hard to track down what it is.

Got the complete compressor, tried it out and it works fine. Truck is at the mechanic I told him to try cranking without the belt. He's dragging his feet, like everyone else.
