2020 ordering?

t. I also got a maxcare at $100 over cost. I'm happy with my deal, if not the timing all things considered.
Brutal,
I've never had a dealer disclose their Maxcare cost. Do you mind sharing what Maxcare you got and its cost?
I would like to compare it with the 5 web discounting dealer quotes I got.
If you'd rather not post it a pm is welcomed

I got a price from Zeigler online at $1185 (as I recall) for 8/60K $200 deductible (I don't put on a lot of miles). Dealer showed me his cost on the screen at $985 and asked me to let them at least make $100. Not sure if that was true cost, but for that little money, I'm in regardless. He said it's just like selling trucks, HE needs to hit a quota on number of sold to get his extra bonus, not necessarily how much they made in profit on each one but it doesn't count if they sell at cost (may or may not be true). Since I primarily worked only with a sales GM, the young Salesman only got a "mini" - he told me a $140 commission. I sent the SM and the Finance guy both $100 Amazon gift cards. I put the SM through the wringer initially looking for a leftover 19 and believed the F guy was pretty straight with me and saved me a lot of money overall.

I'm with yah, i picked my sm up a 100 gift card the other day, when you find a good one that will put up with us, they are the whipping post. Hey brutal, I got a question for your vast knowledge an any one else listening. My salesman had told me before that when they give a great deal, ( so many% below price) that he only gets a flat $200 from the dealer for the sale an not commission. An obviously they get a certain amount when the kick backs come in at 3-4 months. He said that was the case on my sale because i got so much off that he only got $200. I honestly didn't know if he was serious or joking but my wife thought that was probably true. An plus some little kickbacks when they eventually come in also. If that's true, man I feel kinda bad about how i drug him through the mud. Unless that's there schtick. Thoughts?

Thanks.

The "HE needs to hit a quota on number of sold to get his extra bonus, not necessarily how much they made in profit on each one but it doesn't count if they sell at cost (may or may not be true)." is true. The profit part is frosting on the dealer's cake.

Sending the two a gift card was a class act and will reward you in future dealings.. I'm sure they appreciated it.

As I said, he told me he only got a "mini" and $140. Young kid, dealer dependent, seniority, etc.? I guess the only way to know for sure is to get the truth from an ex salesperson.

I mean it sounds like it could be true, makes sense. I just don't know if I'll ever be able to trust a car salesman, even though this guy had given me 0 reason to dought him. As far as I can tell he hasn't lied to me yet in 6 months. He tells me all the time, relax i have your best interest in mind. So far all signs point to he has had, but I still have to be a doubter . You know how it is, a lifetime of stereotypical salesman, it's dang near impossible to change your perception. No doubt hes been the best by far we have ever had. Couldn't be happier. SO FAR

At the risk of getting a few of you (you know who you are) all riled up, I wanted to add a quick note to all those awaiting delivery and putting together your "checklist."

I have found windshield sealant in several spots on my truck including the seats. I'm really kinda pissed about that. Go over your interior well.

I wasn't really sure what it was (it being something sticky) when I noticed and cleaned it off - at least I hope I got it all and there's no lasting damage to the leather - until I was washing and found black sealant on the edge of the hood on the passenger side. I thought the sealant and windshields were all applied and set by machine, but I could be wrong. Either there was an "event" or someone with sealant on their clothes or gloves or what I don't know, was climbing around inside the truck after the interior was installed. The trims on the edges of the windshield also were not very well installed. I also still have that passenger side A pillar trim cover piece that needs to be removed and correctly installed on my truck. If they pull out like everything else once the grab bar bolts are removed, I may just do it myself. I hate going into the dealer for something I can fix myself in 10 minutes. Also, the grill is not well aligned with the body panels, the bed/cab alignment is ridiculously bad, etc. The grill isn't terribly bad but that bed never should have made it past inspection or "dealer prep" and delivered to me like it is.

Guys, IMHO they are slamming these things together and the QA sucks. My 04.5 certainly wasn't like this in any regard, that truck was put together very well. Pretty sad.

Gave the 3500 her first hand wash today. Very impressed, paint felt very smooth, no rail dust (not sure it even took the train). One thing i did notice is the LIMITED badge on tailgate is MISSING! Add that to your list to check. Not sure how the dealership will handle.IMG_0871.jpg

Because I couldn't find a facepalm emoji here. SMH

And check your tailgate to make sure the damper is installed. Mine was missing.

I am wondering if the quality control issues are because the future production of the HD'S is being brought back to the states. So now, the employees don't have to care any more.

They reversed course on that. HD production is staying in Saltillo. Of course after this virus deal who knows how plans will change.

Good grief... View attachment 3680 It just gets better and better!

Talked to salesman and he got the badge on order, no questions asked. Easy 10/10 stars for the dealership. Just waiting on my tags to finish the survey.

4/14 EDIT: Badge came in and installed!

I saw that myself. They were talking about the collapse of the auto dealers, especially used car sales. My daughter works at a warehouse for honda . They have continued to work all along through the pandemic. Now today they said were furloughing for 8 wks because the warehouse is full an had no more room. They say they just can't open all the plants right back up because so many parts ( ie our retractable steps) come from other country's who's open up time frame will be different than ours.

We'll jc, you were asking about were is mine at . The dealer just hollered at me an said its in southern Louisiana, down in corona he'll getting infected. He thinks it might be here by Friday, so well see. Told him ill try to not get to excited an hope for early next wk. I'm cautiously stoked
