2020 ordering?

My 3500 has the air leveling and it’s in KZ status ETA at dealer 1-24-2/7 so I don’t think it’s the air holding them up. I was told plant was shut down over the holidays as mine was in paint status for 3 weeks then it moved quick abut a week ago. I also have the 50 gal tank on my build sheet which people thought was not happening. I suspect holidays have delayed trucks not actual options and equipment
When did you order yours? My order was on 11/16. Only D status!

Order placed Jan 10.
2020 Limited Megacab DRW
Bright White
HO w/Aisin 4:10 gears
Dual Alt. Rear Air. Aux Switches
Trailer Camera Wiring. Bedstep
Protection and Cold Weather pkg
Limited Level 1. Color match bumpers
5th Wheel/Gooseneck prep
MSRP $89,115
Negotiated $79,759

I’m getting antsy as all hell. Going to see the truck and give it a spin tomorrow, dealer is backed up and couldn’t get it prepped by this weekend. I know some of you guys are still waiting for yours to ship, but it’s killer knowing the damn truck is sitting behind a fence two miles away from me. Tried sneaking a peak and got nada. Been there since Wednesday night, trying to stay patient but damn man, it’s right friggin there lol.

Is there something specific you need the dealer to do for prep? I’ve ordered vehicles before and asked the dealer to do no prep, since all they generally do is wash it with some dirty rags and I bag all the stuff that came inside.

Nothing in particular, but do want it clean and checked out, don’t want to buy it right off the train. Plus, dealer said there was prep so I’m assuming they need to handle some additional things I’m not aware of.

They just want to justify the prep fee their going to charge you.

50 gal tank won't be available until Q1, so I was told a couple of weeks ago. My only hope is it can be added aftermarket and configure to read correctly in the display/gauge
Do you have any new information on this? I have a 2019 3500 Megacab and would very much like to add the 50 gallon tank.

If I understood it correctly, the 50 gal tank was only available on the Crew Cab with the 8 ft Bed. My truck just came off the assembly line a few days ago and it has it. I didn't know they had one coming out for the Megacag yet. Or am I missing something?

Ordered 12-9-2019... Got VIN 12-17-2019.... F Status, Paint 12-21-2019 to 01-07-2020.... JB Status 1-7-2020.... Build Sheet 1-8-2020.... KZ Status 1-9-2020.... Window Sticker 1-11-2020.... Approx. Del. Date 1-20-2020 to 2-3-2020

I can confirm that the 50gal tank option is only available for the crew cab long bed. No room for it with the megacab in the current configuration. However, Titan tanks offers a 50 gal replacement tank that works.

I'm going to place the order tomorrow and saw the new information on the safety group. The safety group that I built out doesn't include the lane assist or auto dim rear view. It looks like it's the same sales code though (AAU).

Will it auto default with these features or do I have to confirm with the dealer?

I just picked up my 2020 tradesman with safety group. It had lane assist and auto dimming mirror. You’ll be fine.

Okay, LONG post, but I'm still new to Rams and I'm trying to get a full understanding of the ordering system and what is/is not included with each trim and level. And if it is anything like the Jeep system, the online builder isn't always the most accurate.

With the 2019 builder, it looked like I wanted a Laramie, but with the 2020, it looks like the Big Horn is better for me. I'll explain my options below, and maybe you all can shed some light on things I may be missing.

To start, I want the standard Cummins, 4.10 gears, Night edition, Tow Tech, and Alpine Sound System regardless to which I order. 5 passenger seating is preferred, but that seems to be a problem with the Laramie. Leather trimmed is also preferred, but that seems to be a non-option with the Big Horn....

ANYWAY, here are the 2 I built:

2020 Laramie 3500 CC 4x4 6'-4" Box ($73120 MSRP)
  • Std Cummins
  • 4.10 Gears
  • Air Suspension
  • Dual Alternators
  • Protection Group
  • Cold Weather Group
  • Tow Tech Group
  • Level 1 Group
  • Night Edition
  • 5th Wheel Prep
  • Clearance Lamps
  • LED Bed Lighting
  • Rubber Floor Mats
  • Aux Switches
The downfall here is this only allows 6 passenger seating, unless I add Level 2 group (I don't want the 17 speaker audio, 2nd row seat heaters, rain sensitive wipers, or Nav). This also adds $2840 to the cost. There are a lot of things I also like about Level 2, but don't necessarily need.

2020 Big Horn 3500 CC 4x4 6'-4" box ($71925 MSRP)
  • Std Cummins
  • 4.10 Gears
  • Air Suspension
  • Dual Alternators
  • Protection Group
  • Cold Weather Group
  • Premium Lighting Group
  • Tow Tech Group
  • Level 2 Group
  • Night Edition
  • 5th Wheel Prep
  • Clearance Lamps
  • LED Bed Lighting
  • 5-Passenger Cloth Seating
  • 9-Speaker Apline Sound
  • Rubber Floor Mats
  • Aux Switches
I have to add a lot more to the Big Horn to get some of the same options of the Laramie, but it still comes out cheaper, especially compared to the Level 2 for the Laramie. ($1195 and $4035 cheaper, respectively)

What am I missing? If I go with the Big Horn, what is different from the Laramie even with all of the similar options I've added to the 2?

Just wondering, If you went On Line or On a Dealers Lot and found a VIN No to each one of the trim levels you want to compare, Then go to " https://fcacommunity.force.com/RAM/s/equipment-listing " and punch in each one of the VIN No, Then you could Download then Print out the complete list of Standard Equipment of each and you would have a complete Build list of each trim level and compare the differences.

May be that could help you with your decision.

Good idea! I'll give that a shot!

Great suggestion. I did exactly that before finalizing my order for 2020 2500 Limited.

I see some of you posting estimated delivery times. Are you finding that out through Chat or your Build Sheet? At what stage is that information typically available?
Thanks!

My Sales Person Sent me this screen shot about 2 days after it came off the assembly line
