Do you guys recommend using an additive? I'm afraid ram will void warranty if I have an issue and they test fuel.

I read somewhere that Ram now recommends and additive. Specifically Power Service I think. Not sure where I saw that or if it is correct information. I am sure someone here will know for sure. I would not think the additives impact warranty but I am not sure. After all it is a huge market and many use them. If they voided warranty then I suspect we would know. Plus I think Ram would have to prove the additive caused the issue? I have not looked yet myself, but I suspect there are threads here specifically on this topic.

Yes indeed there are:

I will have to read them and others to see if I will use one once my order arrives.

Power service is the only additive approved by cummins idk if ram says the same but thats what i use

Ram does not say to use an additive (they also don't say not to) except for extreme low temp weather to prevent fuel gelling.

Power Service is endorsed by Cummins and is likely just a lowest bidder money deal because the product is garbage and doesn't come close to the competition in any test the Internet has available.

Ram states that an additive is "not necessary" in the manual, but does not use the words "not recommended".

Hot Shot's Secret EDT/LX4 (LX4 was made specifically for the CP4 issue) and Optilube are the general favorites based upon HFRR Wear Scar rating tests.

That works on my 97 12 valve, but not my 2019 with flap.

what about using 2 stroke oil like in the old vp trucks..im still doing that in 2 of them i have

When it is getting close to having to fill up I keep my mtn dew bottle around then I cut the top off

How to you hold the "fuel flap" open so you can pour it in?
I put in a little bit of fuel to wet the filler neck, then put additive into end of pump nozzle then put in truck and let er rip!
