2020 2500 front end humming noise

Any update, I have the same issue. They told me it was the tires. I spent 2 Grand on new tires and still there. I knew i wasn't crazy when I told them it can't be the tires.

We're sorry to hear of this. Should you choose to revisit the dealer regarding this concern, feel free to send our team a private message for an extra layer of assistance.

My issue was this : after the first 1000 miles of a brand new truck, the front end hummed most predominantly 50-55mph.

It got worse over time.

When I put in 4wd it would instantly go away, then put back in 2wd, it may come back right away or it may take a few miles.

1st trip to service - y able to duplicate
2nd trip to service Dealer said tires - so they rotated.
3rd trip to service, they swapped t-case
4th trip to service they swapped the entire front axle assembly.

Sounded like a bearing for sure. If a dealer swaps the front assembly, all 5th gen front axles supercede to a 2025 axle. Only problem is the CAD actuator is different and requires a new plug.

Hope this helps.

Had my issue resolved today. Initially took it to ram to check out and they just told me it was due to my tires cupping. I bought new tires and issue was still there. So this week i took it to a local repair shop and he agreed with me that it was my front bearing. It sounded like it was on the driver side but ironically it was the passenger side that had to me replaced. After $750 annoying noise is now gone and back to riding smooth in my 2019 2500 longhorn.

Pretty much a waste of money on new tires when my old ones still had good thread on them. That lack of thorough investigation made me loose faith with my local dealership.

Good to know!

Which bearing wheel bearing?

Also how many miles were on your truck at the time of the bearing replacement?

I've had the same noise for a few years now on my 21 Power Wagon. Humming at low speeds, worse around 25-27 MPH. Also recently getting a chatter in the front end while reversing with the wheel turned. The dealership first replaced the drivers side front wheel bearing, noise was still there. Second time they blamed the "overly agressive tires that YOU GUYS put on these trucks". It had and still has the stock Wrangler Duratrac tires on it, not an overly agressive tire in my opinion. Plus that's what came on the truck! I asked if they could open the differential and take a look because it sounds like a bearing noise to me. Service manager told me there are no bearings that turn in 2 wheel drive. He needs to go back to school. Anyhow, they refused to do anything more until I changed the tires to a highway tire. Needless to say I was not going to do that so I've just been dealing with the noise until I have time to go round and round with the dealership again...Not very happy. Hopefully if I can get them to take another look at it, it will still be covered under the power train warranty.
