2019 Ram CP3 Conversion Tick at idle

If you convert to CP3 you are your own warranty station as far as engine work goes.

Two modes of thought here. 1 will they ever be able to tell unless something serious happens and 2 I would bet you’d be taken care of even partially.

Completely dependent on FCA. If it’s something big they are either sending someone out or getting pictures, data logs etc.. I’d just be prepared for denial and buy a lotto ticket if they didn’t.

Hello, new to forum, thanks for great source of info. I posted this question also to other cummins forum, looking for all understanding about possible cp4/cp3 conversion or other solutions. I have 2020 RAM 3500 HO + Aisin truck. First truck ever for me and when I bought this last summer, I didn't know anything about these trucks. I just found out that cummins engines are reliable and that was the thing for me. So, now I understand that this was like little bit bad timing to buy first cummins because of cp4. Here is the question:

Could you experts explain what the CP3 conversion really mean. I have now 2020 model, under warranty and I'm not so worried about CP4 in 1-2 years perspective as the truck is something I need for work. I buy diesel from high volume stations and get my truck serviced in official dealer. So, if pump goes I trust it will be fixed under warranty. But longer term, as my plan is to keep truck maybe 10 years or more, I of course would like sleep well after warranty expires. CP3 conversion sounds good, but is it like too good to be true, I mean, just do it after warranty is gone and you are good?
What means its overdriven, does it have to work harder? Does it mean shorter life cycle for pump? Can I trust emissions are good (there is possibility that after years I export truck to country, where emission controls are strick. If pump is changed to different model, can the truck be seen as modified if we talk about emissions?

Which sound good, conversions doesnt need any programming? So any surprices should not come?
