2019 Ram 2500 Laramie Bed Lights

Why have I seen 2019 ram 2500 on the lot with cargo/bed lights installed but the dealer tells me that they can’t get them. I made them put it in writing that they owe them to me
They were factory installed on my 19’ 2500

75-125$ and every accessory you want to add as oem a sales code has to be added
My local dealer is terrible for a lot of reasons, but they only charge $59 to add a sales code. It doesn't matter if you want one or five added, it's $59.

Can anyone assist with the manufacture of the plugs used on the bed light kit? I am trying to find them to make a splitter that would plug in between the wire harness and the pig tail from the light, drivers side. There are two plugs, one for the switch and one for the light, I am looking for the male/female for the light electric connector/plug and pins and sockets.

Can somebody help me, I installed the bed lights on my 2019 2500, followed the updated instructions. AlfaOBD has two things to turn on bed lights option and bed light switch (pin 16). both are on. the light work off the cargo light, when i open the door, but the switch in the bed that came with the kit (green wire to pin 16) doesnt work. my pin 16 had a grey/white wire, i removed it put in green and then tried tapping (both wires) neither option enables the switch in the bed.

Are you on C7 pin16? Also, is there existing plugs for lights already wired in? Im not sure on the grey and white. Are you able to check the switch to make sure it isn’t bad?

did you ever get it wired up? are you using the bank of harness under the left side in the white box labeled abcdefg? my c3 only has 4 wires in it

Yes I did. Sorry thought I replied to this long ago. I received a copy of the 2019 instructions and wire it and after dealer activated them, worked like a charm.

Did you have existing wires in those pin locations? If so did you just tap them, or did you pull the old wire and plug in the new ones?

Yes, C7 pin 16, there was a gray/white in there, instuction said plug green/wt in. longer grey/white is plugged in under hood and said shorter gray/white isn't used. I doubt the switch is bad but i can should test it.

I had a wire in the C3 pin 17 location. Spliced and soldered it. The C7 pin16 was empty

If I understand the instructions, C7 is located under the dash, behind the light switch. And C3 is under the hood, in the engine bay...is it the fuse box?
The answer is yes, it is in fact the fuse box. I will also add that this install was much more of a pain than it seemed like it would be. The biggest pain was trying to get my hand all the way back to the firewall, behind the brake pedal, and through all of the other electronics to reach the BCM and unplug C7. And there is very little room and almost no slack in the harness once it's unplugged to work on.

I had to remove terminals from both locations in order to insert the new ones that came with the kit. I broke the release tab for C3-17 removing the terminal (I need to take a terminal/pin removal class), so hopefully my extra zip ties keep it seated. After reconnecting the negatives to both batteries and making the changes with AlfaOBD, it seemed to work as designed.

I didn't see this anywhere else, but these are the changes I made in AlfaOBD:
Code:
Car configuration change: Bed Lighting Present - Pin D6: ' NO ' -> ' YES '
Car configuration change: Bed Light Switch Input Present - Pin G16: ' NO ' -> ' YES '

And if you have a crew cab with an 8' bed, be efficient with the way you run your wires, I had just enough to get it done...running it along the driver's side frame, trying to stay with the factory harness run.

On a 21, should the bed lights come on when you hit the button on the tailgate? Mine work when hitting unlock on the Fob and the switch in the bed works. Just thought that since the tailgate is opened by an electronic button that it would also trigger the lights to come on?

I have problem with my bed lights #82215795AC. I did everything with instructions and after reading all yours posts, I think I did good. But my lights doesn't work. I bought Alfaobd and obdmx. Do I need module bypass to enable lights? My truck is 2022 ram 2500. And what computer body should I choose in alfa app?

Yes you need the security bypass cable before you can program the BCM with AlfaOBD.

I can't find any cable for 2022 rams they're only available for 18 through 21 Do you think this will work with my truck ?

Yes I’ve read/heard that the 2019+ cables work for the 2022’s. I got mine from KaodTech.

Can't speak for others but I took the cable off my 2019 3500 and it works on my 2022 3500 just fine. Its from kaodTech. Like with most other things people are slow to update thr MY on parts.

Hi all. Great site!
I’m in the middle of this install and stumped at how to release the c3 pin17 to remove it.
Thanks!
