2019 Ram 2500 Electrical Issue

Well I don’t want to speak to soon, but the dealership called and they think they found the issue. Apparently the is a broken element in the left headlight, the one that would flash on and off with the wipers. They ordered a new one today, hopefully they have it Tuesday.
I have to give the dealership credit, they had 2 guys working on it for several hours the last few days,
Hudson Valley Jeep Dodge Ram in Newburgh, NY
I forgot to mention, they are the LED headlights.
With the rain sensing wipers I'll assume that you've selected the 'lights on with wipers' option in Uconnect. Did you try turning that option off as a remedy?

I don’t have the rain sensing wipers.
I did turn off the wipers on lights on option off, it didn’t change anything.

Misread your original post - my bad. I'm gonna be surprised if the headlight fixes your problem. I think there's other stuff going on with your elect system.

Thanks for the update! Glad that the issue was resolved. Sharing the issue helps all of us. Hopefully, we won;t have the same issue, but now what to suspect and how to resolve.

Quick update, the dealer replaced the headlight seems to be working fine after 20 miles or so. I will update if I have any changes.

Thanks for sharing, glad to hear this update! We are just a PM away if any additional assistance is needed down the road.

That is great news but... I'm probably not the only one wondering how a broken element in a LED headlamp can wreak so much havoc with other components in the elect system. Did they (dealer) at least try to explain that?

I had these exact symptoms, it took a long time to finally diagnose. I’d bet a dollar it’s your G907A ground shorting out.

So I have another update. I too questioned the headlight diagnosis, and today the problem occurred again. So I went back to the dealer, they started from the beginning with checking grounds. it turns out that a TSB was issued on pre 2019 trucks about a ground mounted on the drivers side fender just behind the battery, near the mount for the hood Shock was not making good contact. So the tech checked this ground and when he unbolted it the eyelet Spun a little. The tech took the wrapping off of the wires entering the eyelet and found the crimp was not holding the wires in and pretty much pulled out. He reinstalled the wires, crimped and soldered them in and off I went. It seems ok now, let’s see how it goes the next few days.
He also did some testing and he was able to create the problem by Connecting certain wires to the hot side of the battery. Once the ground was repaired the issue stopped and the problem couldn’t be recreated.

Thanks for the updated update :p I guess these trucks are 4 and 5/8ths gens. If the 4th gen TSB’s are applicable means it must be so.

That tech earned his paycheck that day! Well done!
