2019 headlights vs 2018?

I have a 2018 Laramie Megacab. I’ve been very happy with it except for the headlights. Compared to other vehicles I’ve owned they don’t put out a lot of light. But the bigger issue is there is almost know lateral light when turning corners. Much of my driving is at night, often in very dark areas. It can be tough seeing the road when turning.

My question is whether the lights on 2019 Laramies are any better. I know the Limited and Longhorns have dynamic lights and the Laramies do not. But are the Laramies any better than last year?
Thanks for your help.

I’ve got a 2019 2500 Laramie Crew Cab Off-road Black Edition and the lights on this truck are incredible. They are heads above the lights from the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Sport that I traded in for it. The light throw goes a pretty good distance down the road and when you are turning a sidelight from whichever direction that you are turning comes on and lights up the turn. Also, on the black edition the light lenses have a slight dark tint to them so I’m sure the light on the non-tinted lenses are even better than mine. I’d definitely give the new lighting a 10.

Thanks, that’s good to hear!

my power wagon has much better headlights than my 15 duramax (sorry dont have a previous gen Ram for comparison)

I have heard good things about the Morimoto XB headlights
- cheaper option than new truck / payment

one is for trucks with OEM projector headlights other is for without

I went from a '15 Laramie, which I tried multiple times to install aftermarket xenons, to a '19 bighorn. I know it's not the highest option as far as headlights, but I do have the mid-level LEDs and they are fantastic

I wish I could speak for the projector style, but I can only assume they are better than mine

On a side note I am extremely happy with the fogs as well. I do a considerable amount of night time driving through backroads that are deer infested, and I love how the fog lights are integrated with turning

I also have an '18 grand Cherokee overland with bixenon and LED fogs and would dare say the ram's is better

Good to hear, I will be on my first night drive later today. The commute around here involves the deer dodge, sometimes a few elk and the dreaded invisible moose. Probably still install some extra LED’s but ther are not a lot of locations for a clean install.

They are significantly better than stock.

In my 2014 i had the Baja Designs fog brackets with a set of amber wide cornering Sports and a set of clear spot pros in them. That was a significant better setup for backroads. I had the wide cornering lights wired to the factory fog switch and the spots switched by themselves. I would do that setup if you need more light on your 2018.

I went from a '15 1500 Limited with the projectors to a '19 3500 Limited with the LED adaptive projectors. There is no comparison between the two. I could not be happier with the improvement in lighting on my new truck!

Baja Designs has a fog setup for the Big Horns. They are coming out with a 20" bar mount for the grill in the bumper and A pillar mounts.

Sounds good, I have had pillar mounted lights on the last couple trucks. They work good for shining down into the ditches. I built the mounts myself, lots of screwing around but free.
