    Tonneau cover opinion

My roll-in-lock has served me well since 2019 on two different trucks. The canister was a bit smaller than the other rollups at the time. Biggest issue is keeping the drains on the canister cleared.

Considering changing out my 5th wheel hitch setup and looking for input/experiences

I wanted to convert my trailers, but for my previous two full-bodied fithwheel (102" wide) trailers i needed and used that slider function with my megacabs for cab clearance when parking. I was tired of having the big pullrite blocking my bed, but for me just not feasible even with 4" offset...

    Bed size differences

The top edge of the tailgate has changed in width over the years. If a bedcover was designed to fit completely over the tailgate, I could see potential issues with some years/models.

No seatbelt indicator for passenger seat

Looks like you purchased a 3500. I don't believe 1 ton or larger trucks are required to have passenger seat belt alert. At least my 22 3500 does not apparently have one.

Towing a Brinkley - offset required?

5" offset ball puck vs 4" B&W puck offset that had access too would not make much real-world difference. The required gen y pin box was in fact shorter than the stock lippert pin box on my two trailers. And yes i wanted the gen y to work, really need the bed space when not hauling but scale...

Towing a Brinkley - offset required?

Didn't look up Brinlkey specs but this would be a departure from most keystone and GD designs. As far as the gen Y hitch, it has 0 offset compared to most standard pinbox designs. It was in fact shorter than the stock Lippert pin box our particular keystone and the later alliance trailers. And...

Towing a Brinkley - offset required?

A full width trailer is 102" wide, the ball sits 36" back from the cab on my shortbed at least. Even with a 4" offset ball that leaves about 11" too much trailer to clear the cab at full 90 degrees turn. Really wanted the gen y hitch to free up my bed space when not towing. But in my case, even...

    Towing behind a 5th Wheel

Also review your state laws for triple towing, not legal in some states i believe. Should be good on overall length with your setup.

Towing a Brinkley - offset required?

And this issue would include the brinkly brand which was the original topic of this post. One of the common roots of this problem seems to be that trailer manufacturers never really consider the posibble loaded weights for these rigs. Undersized frames, axles, overloaded tires and springs seem...

Towing a Brinkley - offset required?

Not quite true. Assuming the center of gravity of trailer remains in the same position, an offset increases the distance from the trailer cg to the hitch point slightly increasing the reaction load on the truck. As far as lippert frames they are known to be way too flexible and often poorly...

Towing a Brinkley - offset required?

Brinkley is one of the heavier trailer brands. So much so that i have seen a few reports of the trailer frame failing and heard unconfirmed rumors of more frames failing. For the pin weight reason alone, i would not use an offset hitch. I know my 40' alliance 5'er had the rear axle weight at...

Bilstein 4600 or 5100 for heavy tow application?

I have a friend who is a very highly trained and rated technician for the another brand who also tows restored cars across the the country for personal clients. His thought is it's highly desired on tow rigs to use shocks with remote reservoirs to help keep the shocks from overheating. I had...

    Banks MAP sensor relocation kit

Currently have 22 3500. First 6.7 was a 13 my that i drove for about 5 years. All kinds of sensor problems over the years, but not the map sensor.

    Banks MAP sensor relocation kit

Odd, driving ram diesels since 2001, dont remember having issues with this or even replacing this particular part. And I kept my 01 for thirteen years..

Correct shocks for 3500 dually rear air auto leveling

I think i installed the same 5100 shocks from shock surplus as gimmie11s after one of my stock units blew out. No issues noted with the replacements. Appeared to be same length travel as stock and we have not noticed any changes good or bad in ride quality.

Ram 3500 5th wheel prep kit installation.

Ditto, I bought the hitch from the rv dealer (not a camping world type store) and had them install on my 2020 Ram. It only took a couple of hours at most and was done while we completed paperwork and did the walkdown/inspection for the new RV. There were also several 4-wheel drive accessory type...

    Banks Ram Air with Heater

Despite the adds that keep popping up on these page (at least for me), seems like not available for most of our trucks, so really a moot point.

    Nexen Tires (factory installed)

My nexen's have done the same thing. Have about 26k on them.

My 2 month trip , will my 3500 Aisin make it?

Never mind the truck, will the RV make it? Our 2022 40' Alliance Valor has turned out to be a total piece of carp. Seems it's been falling apart from day1 and spends most f it's off time back at the dealership. Sadly, I think all the RV's are mostly the same these days, same junk components...
