This is why I love this forum: people helping people. I just ran the nav update from my USB drive and mine took exactly 35 mins from start to finish. Was easy and clean and will continue to monitor if the message reappears, but it didnt this time after I updated and shut the truck down.
Now...
I got my jump drives today, soI’m gonna format em and pull the unzipped files onto the drive. I prob won’t be able to do the update uninterrupted until the weekend. You have to keep the truck running correct? Or just Run position hooked to a battery tender so it doesn’t kill the battery?
So I have been getting a 'new map updates are available, do you want to connect to a local wifi to update' message sporadically when I turn the truck off. It's happened since I have owned the truck in December '25. I'm assuming if I follow these steps to get the files onto a jump drive, and...
Sorry for the confusion! Yeah, what I meant was that the size of them was identical, so I'm confident ordering that part number will work, just with the leather wrapping for the handle. I'm planning on ordering one up next week. Also, the install of it doesnt look hard at all. From my one...
They’re identical, I just unboxed it and pulled back the shift boot and held the one I got from @wrvond in the same position as the other one, right underneath it…here’s the pics Fun fact: if you get the new one and don’t like the chrome bezel (like me) on the end of the handle, you can pop off...
Thanks @Darkside ! I also forgot to mention, the original seller of this trailer is pulling it with a Ram, I just can't remember if it was a standard length or longer box. But he def had the Mega Cab, which makes me think its the standard box.
Thanks you @flan @ShadowJ and @whitexc for your responses they were helpful. It gives me a little more confidence to maneuver this thing around. I think its more of the fear of the unknown, but I think once I get going with it, it won't be so bad.
@ShadowJ this trailer does have a...
In short, we're owners of an 8-year-old Belgian draft cross horse, who also is a chestnut mare. Yes, she has a mind of her own. But we are really close to purchasing a gooseneck trailer to cart her to shows. I've never towed a gooseneck before, only bass/fishing boats, and that was 20 years...
So when I looked this up, the last year I saw went up to 2024 (when you look at the years this part fits). Being this is my third Ram, I can’t see the parts changing much if at all. But I’m also scared to pull the trigger for fear it won’t fit then I’m stuck with a $120 part I can’t use.
Thanks @wrvond I found something else to spend my money on! Is it hard to yank out the old shifter and install the new one? I did see videos where there is a bolt at the base of it where it connects to the column, but im more interested in knowing the process for attaching it within the...
@deanfx I was perusing this forum and saw this and was interested in doing this. Did you just buy the shifter knob on the column or the entire shift lever with a leather knob on it?
I posted this in another thread, but this may help some people here:
