I've driven vehicles with column shifters, console shifters, buttons, and now the dial in my DT. Frankly, I like the dial the most. Took me all of 2-3 days to get used to it coming from a console shift vehicle and now it's my preferred shifter.
I'm thinking about upgrading from my DT to a 2500 this fall/winter. 90% of the time a 1500 is more than sufficient for my purposes, but it's borderline the remaining 10% of the time.
I have no desire to deal with a 3500 as a daily driver--last year I test drove a MC 3500 SRW HO back to back...
You can search for a truck with those specific features on the Ram new inventory search page: https://www.ramtrucks.com/new-inventory.ram_3500.2021.html?modelYearCode=IUT202115&radius=25. Find one that meets those criteria and plug it in the towing guide link and you can get your numbers.
I don't have a 2500 yet, but I'm planning on upgrading from my 1500 this fall, or whichever year the updated cab comes out.
The max I tow is ~6k and I'll be towing for work 4-5 times a year up and down the east coast and going as far west as Chicago. I don't like towing with a gas engine, so...
I'm not brand loyal by any stretch of the imagination, but when I got my DT in 2018, it was the clear front runner when I cross shopped it with the F150 and Sierra 1500. I've had my 1500 for about 2.5 years now and will be upgrading to a HD this fall--I've had zero issues with my truck and plan...
I've got a '19 DT, planning on upgrading to a 2022 HD next fall/winter. The wife has said the MC is out because of how it looks, but if the HDs are still 4.5G then, I'll likely end up sticking with a DT since the CC size on the 4.5G is a dealbreaker, along with a few other things that come with...
Not mentioned in the press release, but the website says the HO got bumped to 430 HP: https://www.ramtrucks.com/2021/ram-3500/capability.html
Shame there appear to be no updates for the SO.
Yeah, I've read the same, though it's not outside the realm of possibility that FCA pulls a switcheroo.
That said, it's far more likely something else will be produced in the meantime, but I'm drawing a complete blank on what vehicle(s) it could be. I can't see FCA leaving the factory running...

I wonder what the official plans are for Warren for the gap between October and 2Q21 when the Wagoneers are supposed to...
I found a number of SRW SB MC Limiteds in a 150 mile radius of Washington, DC, you could try checking out one of the zip codes in that area to search. Didn't see any with the CC, but there were at least 5 MC ones with the specs you're looking for that would at least give you a ballpark payload...
Test drove this loaded 2500 6.7 MC today. I liked it! Butt dyno says the SO is a shade less peppy than the HO, but still peppier than my 1500's V6. The ride seemed to be a happy medium between the 1500 and 3500 ride, quite acceptable for DD duties.
It's got a few options I won't get, the MC...
Did some actual weighing today. The heaviest possible loadout for the convention trailer is approximately 4880#, including our personal gear. Assuming a 2200# trailer (just did a 30 second search for trailers that meet my needs and that was a ballpark weight for several I saw) and a 15% pin...
I'm planning to test drive a 2500 6.7 tomorrow or Monday to see how it rides and see what the SO is like. Would the Carli shocks be something to do during the warranty or after the warranty? I'm starting to research potential mods to do and shocks are one.
How mediocre was your mileage? I'm at...
The dealership swapped out the Bighorn test drive for an almost loaded Limited. Still SRW/LB/HO, so pretty applicable besides the change in trim level.
Besides the ride being a bit rougher (though not *that* different from my 1500) than I'd prefer for a DD, I liked it! The HO is a beast and...
Thanks for your input! My lifetime hand calc MPG on my 1500 with the V6 has been 17.9 (probably 90%+ without towing so far), from what I've read here I could probably expect something in that general ballpark with the SO.
Any of the HD engines would allow me to tow far more than I need, which...
