Are any gooseneck balls better than others?

I'm shopping trailers. Might possibly end up with a gooseneck. My truck does have the 5th wheel prep so I think I'm golden, all I need is a ball and the safety chain connections. Are there any particular gooseneck balls that are better? Or are they all about the same?

I went with the B&W setup because I liked the small bit of extra height provided, for the particular trailers I frequently tow.

The curt is also a quality option.

We have a Riverstone Legacy on order and I am going to have them install the Gen Y gooseneck hitch. Unless the dealer talks me out of it, I am planning on the B&W ball set with the chains and tiedowns. Seems to be perfect in height and bang for the money
