Especially since Cummins redid the 6.7 a year and a half ago. Doesn't make sense to spend all that money and time only to come out with a completely new engine after two model years. I guess time will tell.

Two reasons Ram might go 7.2 soon: 1) the 25 and 26 engines are resulting in a lot of warranty claims 2) emissions tier bump happens in 2027 and more displacement reduces tailpipe emissions (which is why we got the 6.7 when the 2007 emissions tier bump happened).
I guess Cummins could keep building 6.7s ONLY for Ram pickup assembly while making 7.2s for everything else, but why?

The 7.2 is and has always been designed for light commercial use and only commercial use. I also read in the NTEA work truck, that it expands versatile medium-duty trucks only. I feel it could possibly find its way into the pick-up market around 2029-2030 after they run it in commercial duty trucks for a couple years. Just the excessive weight, large size and lower HP of 300 and 600-1000 LB of toque will not fit the standard pick-up and not to mention the suspension it would need to carry such weight.

Because I bet RAM is the single largest customer when it comes to the volume of engines that Cummins sells to. Honorable mention to PACCAR.
That seems like a pretty good reason to me.

That guy is a clown. I've seen a bunch of his emissions videos and dude acts like he's "in the know", like he has the inside track with Trump and Lee Zeldin. Although I agree to the toothless doofus comment he is right on many things CJDR stuff. I honestly believe a 7.2 will come out maybe not a 27 MY but by 28 and it will have little emissions (no def, scr, dpf and maybe just EGR and DOC). time will tell.

You know what - I may have misunderstood the roll-back of the endangerment findings which have more to do with greenhouse gas then NOx. Since the tier 3 regulations are still intact mfg will still require to meet these NOx levels which, from what I've been researching, cannot be done without SCR/DPF/DEF. However, increasing fuel rail pressure and motor displacement may help with hitting target NOx without DEF while still hitting hp/tq numbers, or so I hope. If we could remove one emission device it would be DEF IMO.
