I have had the same problem since I got the truck two years ago. I flushed the heater core no change. Just a week ago I had an overheating problem, replaced the thermostat. Overheating is gone but the heater problem is of no change. I am in NH and the truck is freezing cold while I am driving...

This looks like the problem I had. After observing all kind of strange indications, replacing the thermostat fixed the issue.
