    Inverter install

It was free. Direct to the chassis, if I ever need the extra it's easy enough to throw another cable across.

    Inverter install

Only using the inverter for charging phones/tablets in the trailer at night if we don't have shore power, so not really getting any where near 50A. It's also connected to a secondary battery that isolates from the main charging system when the truck is off.

    Inverter install

Ran the 4/0 cables under the carpet, but there is a knock out on the floor of the storage area.

What did you do TO your RAM today?

Most of the time would be for a cycle carrier, also as a front support for a 16' canoe, as I plan to upgrade the trailer to a fith wheel so would need canoe forward of the rear axle. The materials it's built with are probably overkill, but I like to over engineer things and apart from the hitch...

What did you do TO your RAM today?

Made and fitted a front hitch. Side pieces are 1/2" plate. (Some steel removed to allow for the bumper support) Main tube 3/8" section 3X3. Hitch tube 18" long bought from a supply store. 5/8" bolts through a piece of 1/2 conduit as a sleeve though the frame. (Fitted perfectly) I had added a...

What did you do TO your RAM today?

Your stuff is where I got my ideas from, Thank you. Couldn't put the inverter in the bed as it gets used to carry firewood, and if we use the Tent instead of dragging the trailer out (3500 mile road trip from Alberta to six of your national parks, last year) it gets power washed clean.

What did you do TO your RAM today?

The inverter is one i've had for about 15 years, just ran it straight off batteries in the bed of the truck.

Has anyone made the fuel filler capless?

Maybe not too much of a problem in warmer climes, but it's handy having the cap to hold the filler open incase the pump doesn't have a locking clip. Especially when it's -30c up here☃️ Jason

    Battery recommendations

Have had good luck with Interstate batteries, ran in my 04 and now 19. Also use them in my trailer. Jason

    Moose Antlers

When I had my 04 i preferred them down as the glass allowed for a wider view especially for backing into campsites, however I do find that with my 2019 I get a better view with them up. Jason

Lets see what you are towing!

Not really stressing the truck too much, had it out for the first time this last weekend with my new to me 2019 3500. Towed great, could hardly tell it was there. 5000lb loaded 12mpg (imperial) to the campsite, 9mpg on the way back (strong headwind). Was sort of downhill on the way there, 240km...

Octane requirements for the 6.4 Hemi???

Have always ran premium, it runs way cleaner. When I still had my 04 hemi last year I had to have the heads off for a cam follower swap, the tops of pistons were still as shiney as the day it left the factory.
