Your truck, do as you wish. All I know for certain is that the 22+ ecm has NOT been cracked, which means there is absolutely no way to TUNE them, unless you swap.
Done months of research on the topic, I personally would not do it. More bad than good, all it does is turn off sensors, usually timed. Spend the coin, swap and get reliability and don’t worry about your truck misbehaving.
You can get flux cored stainless wire, it’s a little expensive and it’s not as pretty as using mig and gas but I’ve used it with my little 110 wire feeder and it works well. All things considered.
