That releases your 8 speed ZF trans from park so it can be moved (towed) in certain Instances of no electrical power or equipment malfunction. There is a procedure in the owners manual spelling out proper use.

Question for you guys that have had the headliner out looking for and fixing the clearance light leaks........do these two items in the picture (I think satellite AM/FM antennas) pose a threat to water intrusion? I always question roof penetrations and an unskilled workforce installing these...

Right! Whatever happened to the good ol days of getting the fluid to operating temp and pull a dipstick? Guess they have to dummy proof things so people don’t dump engine oil or rocks down an ATF tube?

Well I guess that settles that! I appreciate it as I overlooked it in the manual. I knew it had to be somewhere. Called the dealer service writer and he told me to “just fill it up til it comes running out”. Seemed a little fishy. Now off to check the 8 speed tranny (helps me sleep better...
