That’s really interesting you say that, because the service advisor at my dealership told me this was a temporary fix and I will definitely be getting a second recall notice at some point it the future and will need to come back. Was he misinformed?

So I just got back from the dealer. They are not changing anything, just removing the relay, glopping some silicone on the back and slapping it back on. Took about an hour (presumably to let the silicone setup). Service advisor said it’s a “temporary permanent” fix until FCA decides to start...

I’m in Denver metro and have a couple options, Boulder Ram is closest to me, said they had parts and have a noon appointment on Tuesday next week. Said it’s a 2 hour job. Will report back once it’s done

Nope. As far as I can tell there is no feedback (amp switch) for the ecm to tell if the heater is actually drawing. I left the little two wire plug installed on the relay itself, just disconnected the main power coming off the passenger side battery. Just drove for 45 mins and had no issues

I just unwired the power to mine. Truck was built in 11/2020. Between “it’s not an issue” and “might catch fire and burn your house down” I don’t feel super confident having it wired in. It’s warm enough out now I’m not gonna need the grid heater for a bit anyway, better safe than sorry I guess.
