On my 2026, 2 hard resets of the screen early on for glitches, and a melted parking brake manual release connector because the heat foil fell off. Pretty minor at 9500 miles. One recall for trailer brake controller. My 2018 would be at like 6 recalls by now, lol.
Very half baked, everyone here seems to be unanimous and that is unusual. I feel like the Power Wagon despite being a Halo vehicle sees very little love. I wish that would change. There is a rumor Ford is working on something closer to the Power Wagon, so is Ram just going to get passed by...
The Diesel wont make it up the hill. I am talking about off road. On road, a Diesel DESTROYS a gasser, believe me, I am well aware of that. I am talking off road where the issues are. I know, strange, but I do off grid subdivisions. Some are quite steep.
Maybe less about expensive, and more tolerance for all the maintenance of a Diesel. With out the emissions I might be tempted. The added weight is a killer up steep grades, and they tend to get stuck more in mud. However, another big issue of typical Diesel heavy duties is the longer wheel base...
The BN58 in the Grenadier was a smart move, we enjoy it. My concern is for towing and longevity bigger, traditional engines seem to fair better. Being someone who has dragged 15K over 13,000' passes, I would welcome turbos and torque, but only if it could hold up long-term under the demands of...
You are not wrong. I got denied a door lock repair on a Ford Van for same reason. I was showing someone the itty bitty key scratch on the bezel Ford claimed it was vandalism. Dude thought I had lost it. Warranties are hardly worth the paper they are written on unless it is an obvious...
3 Month Update! 6K and 3 Months. As suspected reliability is far superior to the 2018. By now the recalls on the 2018 were completely out of control, flat tires( did they really improve Duratracs?) and I had several annoyances. For now I have had;
1. 1 Initial hard reset of uconnect due to...
I vote separate. Dodge is so heavily connected to extreme unreliability to this very day...and muscle cars. Ram is Good Looking, Tough Trucks and the first Chrysler brand to begin to get a handle on reliability in history. Don't mess up what is working.
Might be a convergence of issues;
1. Lack of Work Force Participation
2. Unicorn hunters working as service writers that really dont want to work or answer phones
3. Complexity of modern cars and increasing demand for good mechanics that can perform diag
4. These flat rates are even less...
So, what you are saying is the new norm of no customer service, and no phones being answered, no messages returned is reasonable. Ok, worse then I thought.
There was no one answering, voice mail was full the entire time. And hand delivered messages were not returned. Only time I received smoke signals was over a week later via text and he could not find my truck. And it was about every other day for 5 MINUTE diagnoses. Look, I get it phones are...
Ford Dealer denied to warranty a broken door lock recently because of scratches on the Bezel . Went in for some crappy trim clips as an employee drove a van into a post. They want 6.96 EACH. Yes, each. We needed 40. 6.00 on Amazon. I get it, you have to mark stuff up. But all the games chase...
I received a text today. More then a week after going in, from the service writer. He says, I have a note to call you from last week, but I cant find your truck! Did you pick it up? :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: I ran down the fact phones were not being answered, voice mail always full, 2...
Not returning calls and leaving voice mail full is not acceptable at all. Sitting on a truck with a minor issue for a week after scheduling an appointment, nope. Ignoring hand delivered notes to call a customer, nope. Not buying it at ALL. But yes, COVID and work force crisis made poor customer...
