I would check the cable to see if any varmints havent chewed wires or the cable got pinched I would also check the fuse to make sure it hasnt blown as well

One would assume the fobs would have good batteries but who knows how long those had sat on the shelf you would need a code reader to read the codes

The exhaust wouldn't be covered under the 5 year 100,000 mile warranty? If you dont delete it, another option is to look on Facebook Market place, I see alot of the diesel exhausts for sale all the time
