NHRA U.S Nationals in Indianapolis inquiry

Planning a trip east for Labor Day races in Indianapolis. Air/car rental/Air BnB all in order. Anyone have insight to best seating and parking?

New Member, Some Friendly Advice Requested

If I was only towing on occasion and not a heavy load, I'd go with the Hemi.

    Diesel/Gas justification banter?

I'll stick with the Cummins for now, my 4th one. Trips to Nascar, NHRA, and to the coast for fish/crab. My dump trailer, and 5th wheel demand the Cummins. Once I get too old and decrepit to tow my 5th wheel, I'll unload it and get a 1500. Unless I croak first, in that case it wont matter.

First road trip with a diesel; best fuel sources?

On the west coast, I look for the Indian Casinos for fuel.

Lets see what you are towing!

Found this 99 FXR2 with only 4200 miles. Made the 430 mile R/T yesterday, before the next storm system rolls in. I just had to have it.

What did you do TO your RAM today?

Took truck into the dealer 2 miles away and had them flush cooling system and replace with fresh coolant. $231 and I was satisfied. Only 47k on the truck but tow a lot and mostly in the mountains, so sleep better doing preventive maintenance.

    The Other Vehicle

New to me, 2001 FXDP Defender. Hard to find in stock condition. Rides like a dream. It's got cop suspension, cop cams, and that cop seat is the bomb.

My neighbor is going to be selling his fathers 2006 Ram 3500 dually, with 5.9 Cummins and 6 speed manual transmission, 132,866 miles, clean truck no issues. Located in far northern California. Anyone got an idea of price. I see prices all over the place.

My dad needs 5th wheel expertise.

I'd ditch the Anderson and go with the Reese Goosebox.

    The Other Vehicle

6 footers have a hard fit in this particular "Harley" sidecar. There are many better options out there, in my opinion. Hannigan, Liberty, and a host of others. The price for this setup was hard to pass up. It will be fun once summer arrives. We don't plan on any long distance touring. Mostly...

    The Other Vehicle

It's a totally different animal, thats for sure. A whole new learning curve. Bought two 50# sacks of lead shot, for ballast when no passenger aboard. Easy to lift sidecar tire in the air on right turns. And a bit of a wrestling match at times, making turns at slower speeds. Ordered a "Ezee...
