My service guy said he’d have to keep the truck a day or two to check it out. (Backed up in engine/drive train service). I need my truck so maybe next time.
My service rep says they got a shipment of shocks in Detroit last week. The regional service rep says we need to wait until the 10th (the last ETA) before considering alternatives. I’ll update.
I believe I found after-market suppliers with the Bilsteins in stock.
Thanks. I'm in Texas. Apparently there's a different shock for the trucks with factory air suspension than trucks with standard suspension. I have air suspension. If your truck came with factory rear air suspension I may be in touch depending on what I hear from dealer today.
Good for you! Today's report was eta Nov 11 for my shock. The eta has been extended twice. Nov 11 would be over 9 weeks, but no one has any confidence in even that date. I have air leveling suspension in rear and it is a different shock than the one used for standard suspensions. Maybe they...
Others have said the same. I've dealt with worn shocks before. Probably over-cautious with new truck and all. I've got an opportunity coming up this week. Hauling cattle cubes. Will maybe go max payload and see how it rides.
I'm driving it, but limiting my loads and hauling. Still a problem and not good for a lot of reasons.
My service rep finally escalated this to the regional service guy to try to get authorization to use an after market shock. Supposed to hear back tomorrow.
I probably will go with new Bilsteins...
I ordered my 2021 RAM 2500 CTD in February. It came in right on time, 10 weeks later in April. I noticed an odd small fluid leak on my driveway in August after my first service. Thought it might be from a spill during the oil change that ran down the frame. But, it was a real lightweight...
Just took delivery on my '21 2500 Cummins last week. 400 miles on odometer. This is my 3rd Dodge/RAM Cummins. I was hoping the vibration I feel while stopped at lights, etc. would smooth out. Sometimes it's more noticeable than others. If I shift to neutral, don't feel it. Tried turning off A/C...
My Lone Star/Big Horn is a daily driver and working ranch truck. I got the Level 2 (now level B) for the heated seats and steering wheel for those cold winter mornings (even in Texas). . . love them. Techwise, Level 2 includes (at least when I ordered) park assist front/rear, and blind...
I have to say that my new '21 with the Firestones (even at 65lbs) has a much smoother/softer ride than my comparably equipped '17 RAM that I put Michelin LTX A/T's on. The '17 had an 80lb recommended inflation on rear for full loads and I kept them pretty close to that and that may have...
