They are not the same at all. Like mentioned above, different size and shape. But most relevant to what you’re doing, the tail light connectors and wiring between the 1500’s and 2500/3500’s are completely different.

You’ll need to configure the bcm with alfaobd for the side cameras to display.

The mirror needs linbus to be able to turn on. Did you not originally have a mirror that was plugged into a connector?

You shouldn’t even need to contact alfaobd at all. In the license info tab, you’ll be able to de-activate the license from your current laptop, and paste/activate it on the new laptop.
