BOTH Batteries dead in two years?

It is ironic that with the massive investment in battery technology for electrification, the plain ‘ol 12v car battery is falling behind. I got 3 years to the month on my June 2020 truck batteries. Meanwhile, the battery on my 2016 tractor that is stored outside in the south Florida heat is...

    Taveres Is Out at Stellantis

‘When I am saying we were arrogant, I’m talking about myself, nobody else. I’m talking about the fact that I should have acted immediately, recognizing that the convergence of those three problems was there, and we had to set up a task force to address them,” Tavares said at Stellantis’s...

    Banks Diff Cover Bolts

Regular Loctite does not work well on stainless steel because of smoothness, and stainless is chemically inert. Use Loctite 243 or 263, both are designed for specialty metals. If it were me I would not use stainless hardware for this application. They are lower strength than carbon steel and...

    Longhorn leather dash failure

I have one of those as well, and the door glass covers as well. The direct sun is not the problem, it is the heat. The cabin heat shrinks the leather and then it expands as it cools.

    Longhorn leather dash failure

agree. But I do not see them doing that.

    Longhorn leather dash failure

I know this topic has been covered here, and in other forums. The leather covering my dash has completely failed. I spoke with a couple of local upholstery shops and it is an issue they see a lot. Leather won’t survive on the dash under the Florida sun. What dash cover products have you seen...

Blind Spot Alert Unavailable Service Required

Update. Fixed. My center console went dark 6 months ago. No AC, no display, running boards, sensors, cameras not working. I went to a local shop known for electronics troubleshooting and they confirmed the radio was talking to the BCM but suggested replacing the radio. I was not convinced. When...

What do you guys use the 110v outlet for?

It is limiting for well-understood reasons. Drive by wire systems, electronic suspensions, mild hybrid systems, and redesigning subsystems (AC, power steering, coolant pumps) to take them off the engine requires wiring harnesses that significantly increase weight and volume. The higher voltages...
