Well, it's been a full week, and we just took a 500 mile trip with the new radio and EVERYTHING in the u-connect system worked flawlessly. Looks like changing the radio did the trick!
New radio installed on 2/3/25. As of now, everything seems to be working normally (even though I had to pay a 15 dollar fee to activate the new radio on my account). Since the problems were intermittent, I will keep this thread open and watch the radio for a while.
Update: On the fourth trip, dealer changed the "shark fin" due to high resistance with no change, Dealer ordered a new radio and it is being installed tomorrow. Will advise the results.
I've had my '22 2500 Laramie for about 20 months. The first year the 12 in u-connect was fine. Then I got a recall from the dealer for a radio upgrade, Since that time, I have had nothing but trouble with the radio and u-connect system. 1. constant reboots, 2. backup camera freezes, 3. loss...
I have a '22 2500 and my display was super glitchy and occasionally rebooted itself. After 2 trips to the dealer including a 4 hour software reload, they have diagnosed it as a problem with the "sharkfin". I'm having it replaced next Wednesday.
I keep my OEM transforce tires at 60psi front and 65 psi rear per the door sticker. So I got out on snowy roads and I might as well have been running slicks. Even in 4WD
I had minimal traction. I believe (short of throwing out these tires) that lowering the air pressure would afford...
