I'll probably end up doing that as well. I doubt it's too expensive of a part. It just doesn't feel right having to pay extra to restore the functionality that RAM decided to remove.
Every RAM truck I test drove had the capability to check the transmission fluid.
When I ordered the truck...
It would be great if it was this simple. I haven't been able to check my transmission fluid for years.
The dealership won't do anything because their computers tell them my truck doesn't have the short dipstick...
There's almost always a way. All it takes is time and money...
The digital rearview camera system uses what is thought to be a proprietary protocol for video that isn't compatible with any other system. However, it is possible to use the mirror without the truck. Unfortunately it's not as...
You need part number 68586112AA. Unless things have changed in the past several months, these are extremely hard to come by. They do occasionally show up on eBay. Your best bet is to setup an alert for this part number and be prepared to act quickly, as they tend to sell quite fast.
For the...

Yes, the door that covers the old cup holders gets removed. However, nothing is permanently modified. I could put it back to stock in about 20 minutes.
As previously mentioned, the 2023+ camera system (68586112AA) should consist of two cables and a repeater. If you just have a single cable that goes from the bumper to the camera, you either have the wrong (or an incomplete) camera system. (I have tested before, and even the correct camera...
Several here (including me) have had this same problem with this type of connector. After switching to the recommended type of connector, all my problems went away.
See this link...
This might not be the most elegant technique... but one way of doing this is to adjust your mirror image all the way down, and then physically tilt your camera up to get the view you want. This way when the truck is put into reverse, the image won't tilt down any further (since it's already...
I haven't looked inside the door pillar yet. At this point I'm still not sure where I would like to mount it at. But I do know I would like to avoid any modifications to the truck if possible.
So far, all I've spent on this project (other than 4-5 hours of my time) is $23.01 for the key fob...
The main component on the keyfob is a NXP PCF7953. This is what's responsible for completing the pairing process, storing the necessary information, and generating the one time use code needed to successfully send a message to the truck. Unfortunately, there is almost no information freely...
I've completed my first prototype, and am able to lock/unlock my truck. This is an entirely wireless module, and requires no modifications to the truck (other than to pair a new Keyfob).
Currently the passcode to unlock is hard coded to 12345. Then to lock, the 4 & 5 buttons are held for...
I realize this is probably too late to help you, but wanted to add this info just in case it may help anyone else in the future.
When I did this, I ended up 3d printing an adapter so the CHMSL camera could fit in the OEM trailer housing. Files can be found here...
It looks like the longer OEM cable (from the repeater to the camera) is RG58. If you want to go this route, you could try buying a shorter RG58 cable with the appropriate fakra connectors on it.
If your tent spends a significant amount of time in your bed, what I would recommend is getting a...
