Update on my truck.
Truck was in the shop for around 3 weeks.
They ended up replacing the DPF.
Have been driving it around 4 times a week for the past 2 months, short trips, maybe 40-50 miles, stop and go, some idling, etc, I think they fixed it.
It now is passively regenerating even on...
Update: truck was in the shop for 3 weeks. Dealer found a loose charge pipe. Fixed that, performed standing regen, short trip regens continued, dealer replaced DPF differential pressure sensor, and the recently installed recall PM sensor.
One note on the paperwork indicates that they are...
Tech finally responded saying he ‘fat fingered’ the write up. Truck is back in he shop for the second occurrence of the CEL. I’m very lucky that I don’t need the truck as it is not a daily driver so… We’ll see what happens.
At this point I’m willing to hear every and any theory. I believe this is sound, fuel delivery sounds plausible and since a majority of the guys with 21+ HO motors have this issue. the change to the slightly lower compression design probably didn’t help either.
This is like chasing aliens at this point.
Reading some other posts about aluminum and iron content in oil, rocker arms not allowing exhaust valves to open completely leaving regens not actually completing but showing complete at 0% , premature wear on internals in the combustion sequence...
I will ask, thanks.
I’m wondering how this will all shake out once the emission police come down on Cummins / Ram.
I’m also wondering if the lack of PM sensor during the initial build created ‘opportunities’ for a rush fix program that was faulty and the subsequent after PM sensor program is...
Holy crap! Hahaha I hope that’s a typo. I’ll call them tomorrow to see what’s up.
Luckily I have a dealer nearby that the advisor actually calls me back, takes questions to the techs, provides feedback and advise for everything.
In fact after this ‘fix’ he has called me probably 4-5 times to...
Second occurrence of the CEL and P2459 code.
This was the breakdown of what the techs performed on the initial troubleshooting.
LoL, note the air filter number hahaha. It seems the system still calls out the AA filter.
Note, both the grid heater relay and PM sensor recalls were performed at...
I just got off the phone with my local dealer. They have 8 trucks in the back waiting to be repaired for this issue. I had him pull my vin in dealer connect and it wasn't flagged. That might be some sort of relief maybe but he said it’s still cross your fingers. I like when these guys just shoot...
The ones on the truck now are open so I’m just gonna fill it. These are 2019 wheels I found for cheap that I’m refinishing for a 2022. Thank you for the info!
Does anyone know what this extra hole in the wheel is? It’s approx 19mm (3/4”). I intend to fill it with aluminum epoxy before painting but if it’s some harmonic balancing hole or something I’ll pass. Thanks in advance.
I went ahead and shot some 2k white on the scuffed up wheel to mock it before I had them chemical stripped. I’m saying the hell with it. I’ve also got a buddy 3d printing me the custom hub caps I designed in fusion. I’ll be showing those around at some point. They will be rhinestone cowboy-esque...
