Test the coolant for exhaust residue, but it sounds like a HG or head issue.
No 5th gen Cummins yet.
Also, I’d ditch the Cat oil filter for something that says Donaldson or Fleetguard. And if your fuel filters say cat, you need to change those out too. It’s been a long long time since cat...
Not sure it’s got anything tangibly better than the Donaldson DBL7349 already does. There might be a little more media, might, but most of that added height is likely taken up by the completely unnecessary bypass valve that isn’t even spec’d to be in the filter. In addition to the bypass being...
The commonly used Cat fuel filters are inferior to the OEM filtration, so the easier to change filter comes at the price of sacrificing filtration and fuel/water separation.

I never looked into 48V since it doesn't make much sense in a van or RV, at least to me. Makes great sense if your loads are primarily inverted, but for DC loads I didn't see the overall benefit.
The only parts that are different on the dual alternator setup are the belt and 2nd alternator. The rest of the accessories, tensioner, etc are the same.
Its a very easy mod to add or remove. The dealer or AlfaOBD/JScan (depending on year) can enable or disable the feature.
I am pretty sure...
