I never looked into 48V since it doesn't make much sense in a van or RV, at least to me. Makes great sense if your loads are primarily inverted, but for DC loads I didn't see the overall benefit.
The only parts that are different on the dual alternator setup are the belt and 2nd alternator. The rest of the accessories, tensioner, etc are the same.
