    24 volt alternator ( auxiliary )

Not a Ram, but started fitting my Arco A7000 and running the cables.

    24 volt alternator ( auxiliary )

You would have to contact that company, but if it doesn't I am sure they will soon. I never looked into 48V since it doesn't make much sense in a van or RV, at least to me. Makes great sense if your loads are primarily inverted, but for DC loads I didn't see the overall benefit.

    24 volt alternator ( auxiliary )

The only parts that are different on the dual alternator setup are the belt and 2nd alternator. The rest of the accessories, tensioner, etc are the same. Its a very easy mod to add or remove. The dealer or AlfaOBD/JScan (depending on year) can enable or disable the feature. I am pretty sure...

    24 volt alternator ( auxiliary )

Sterling sure is proud of their products, but they also get great reviews. The reverse flow is appealing too. Definitely want a lot of airflow around that sucker.

    24 volt alternator ( auxiliary )

Ok, that's what I was thinking. When you said it cranks out all day at 50A I was thinking you meant output, which didn't make sense for 12-24. I am pretty sure a 70A unit would sell very well.

    24 volt alternator ( auxiliary )

I've only ever read good things about the Orion XS. If I wasn't installing a 24V alternator on my van (it gets here tomorrow :p) that's the route I would be going. I thought that the output was limited to ~25A when going 12 to 24V due to the 50A inlet limit, and the only way to get 50A @ 24V...

    24 volt alternator ( auxiliary )

Most common approach is to run a separate set of cables to the RV with an Anderson style disconnect at the bumper and then use a larger DC-DC converter. What do you want to know? There isn't much to learn from a photo with how they are integrated. Pass alternator has the field wire coming from...

    Considering a Ram 2500 Hemi

haha... way better than google. The tailgate isn't all that light but rather has a torsion bar that reduces the felt weight. If you ever take it off you'll realize it's just as heavy as they used to be.

Kelderman Air Ride on 24 2500 6.4L hemi

I would try lower air pressure and removing the front sway bar first. I also wouldn't want to run those shocks on a DD, they need rebuilt far too often. Stick with Bilstein 5100 or 5160's. 35 psi is enough air for 4140 lbs per axle. On my Hemi I run 40/35 empty, its a CCLB. As long as the...

Kelderman Air Ride on 24 2500 6.4L hemi

Have you tired lowering the air pressure when you’re not towing?

    Considering a Ram 2500 Hemi

Ram “classic” and “all-new” are light duty truck terms, not heavy duty. There was not a point where the 4th gen and 4.5 gen were made at the same time, it was a hard switch on the HD. All I can find on Google is that the aluminum tailgate is a LD only thing.

    Considering a Ram 2500 Hemi

When did Ram switch to an aluminum tailgate on the HD’s? I know the LD’s have one, but hadn’t heard the HD’s do.

    Diesel/Gas justification banter?

Cummins defines anything over 10 minutes of idle per hour of operation as excessive. Extended idle isn’t a direct term I’ve seen Cummins use, however they do talk about 3-5 minutes under some circumstances in addition to the excessive definition. That tells me anything over 5 minutes is...

    Considering a Ram 2500 Hemi

I bought a used 6.4 w/4.10’s nearly a year ago with 153K on it and it does fine towing my 10K 5th wheel. It’s not a diesel, so it’s slower up hills and burns more fuel but it does just fine. No real issues, the truck needs some 158K mile love but that’s not a big deal. Overall I’m impressed with...

Symptoms of bad DPF Sensor? 100% full suddenly and nothing on CTS Edge 3?

Exactly, not how it works. 24 engine run hours max, but thanks to the lack of a decimal point and rounding it’s very possible to have 23-26 hour meter hours register for 24 hours of actual run time. I get why they didn’t include a decimal point and why idle + drive always = total… but the...

Engine Light on After Cold Start

I’ve had good luck with Costco Interstates, hard to argue with the price warranty. I hear lots of good things about Walmart AGM’s too, I’ve just never tried them. The turbo cooldown times is up to 5 minutes. The chart also hasn’t been updated for 25+ years and the turbos have been water cooled...

    Before ordering... Anti-spin worth it?

For the 2500/3500 standard pickups… 03-18 used a helical gear torsen diff. 19+ is a clutch pack based lsd

    4wd Question

Don’t use it on dry high traction surfaces, but I would find a dirt road or something to engage it on periodically.

Engine Light on After Cold Start

Interesting. I went back and looked again and it’s not in the 2022 manual I have saved, but it is in the 2018 one. The grid heater operates anytime the manifold temp is 66°F and below, yet Cummins states that a grid heater isn’t needed above 10°F…. Meaning. 10-66°F is Ram driven and likely...

Engine Light on After Cold Start

Where do you see the 3 minutes of idle time after starting? I don’t recall ever seeing that. The post-heat cycle is 2 minutes or until you hit >18mph, whichever happens first. Yes, that will charge them correctly. At 6 years old it’s probably time for new batteries, it’s not uncommon for...
