Wow.... can't believe I've had the truck for almost 2 months now and never even noticed that button.... thanks!
I am curious if others have their alarms auto disabled when a trailer is connected. That would definitely make sense, but like I said earlier, mine definitely doesn't do that. Is...
Is there a way to disable the rear backup sensors/alarm when towing a trailer? It's pretty frustrating to hear the beeping sound the whole time you're trying to focus on backing up the trailer.
One thing I've come to terms with is that pretty much all security devices only serve to keep the honest people honest. I've seen plenty of videos of people picking locks, freezing them and smashing them, pipe method, sawzall, bolt cutters... if someone wants what you have bad enough they're...
Thanks dude, it's been a long time coming (the whole vehicle really) but I'm happy with the way it turned out. Don't sell yourself short... your bumper looks like a beast!
Agreed. Towed the humvee on my car hauler trailer the other day, according to the CAT scales it was just under 10,000 pounds with about 1,500 pounds of tongue weight and it towed like a dream without any kind of sway bar control or weight distributing hitch... even doing 85 mph down the highway.
Finally finished making a winch bumper for my Disco 2, installed a Smittybilt X20 12k winch with synthetic rope and hawse fairlead... love it so far. Think I want to switch to a factor 55 style mount on the end of the rope instead of a hook though.
I know there's discussion on this topic in a few different threads but thinking this one is the most relevant....
Has there been any progress on the forward facing camera with gridlines for the ones that couldn't get it to work originally? I just finally changed mine back after 2,000 miles and...
I tried it on my 2500 but sadly after 50 or more key cycles and over 2,000 miles I still don't have the button or guidelines, also lost my surround view and rear guidelines :(
Looks like I lost about 5" of ground clearance along the sides there. Bottom of the running board bracket to the ground is 14" and bottom of the pinch weld on the cab to the ground is 19". Top of running board to top of door sill is about 10.5".
I hate losing ground clearance especially with...
Good luck with the lights, not sure I would trust my dealership to install them... but I guess at least they would have some kind of warranty on them? Here's a forum thread with some discussion on the different options:

Bummer... that doesn't give me much hope seeing as how we have practically the same truck. Did you ever even get the button on the screen for the forward camera?
