Supplemental bumper mounted back up camera...

Anyone know if an additional back up camera can be plugged into the 8.4? I run about 50% of the time without a tailgate and am constantly backing on to something. Need to find a solution. Thanks.

You could purchase a 2nd tailgate latch camera that comes with the exact wiring that you disconnected with the tailgate. Then find a place on the bumper to mount.

Out of curiosity why are you running without a tailgate?

We have a cab over camper that requires the tailgate be removed when hauling. So when we reach our destination I’m without the tailgate/camera. Nine times out of ten I’m too lazy to reinstall when we get home. I run at least half the spring summer and fall with out a tailgate.

That makes sense. You could probably rig up a new camera on the camper itself and a cable to go right to the tailgate connector.
