I have a new 2500 Cummins and I’m getting used to the display. I have the 12” screen. But I think I am talking about the instrument cluster display for this question.

Where do you see the display “Regeneration in Progress”?

I put the cluster on the DPF page and I am pretty sure it went through a regeneration as I could smell something hot and the DPF display went from about 1/3 to zero while driving up the freeway… but I never saw anything that said “Regeneration in Progress. Am I missing something? How do I know it is regenerating other than the smell, and what if I shut the truck down before it is done? Thanks.

Check the thread posted there but you probably went through a passive regen (last page on that thread explains what that means). I have never seen my gauge move off of 0 but whenever its in active regen (every 24 hours of engine operation) it shows "Exhaust regeneration in progress" on the DPF screen. I have about 5k miles on the truck and have seen it 4 times now, every 24 hours of engine operation.

Others say their truck works differently but mine is exactly like this also, always on zero, every 24 hours exactly.

For the OP. In the thread linked above, post 28 has a download link to a great PDF summary.
