I'm in the shop for the 3rd time at 7500 miles due to emissions issues. It's going on 4 weeks and the diesel tech has a ticket open with engineering because the truck wont perform a passive regeneration and it is kicking the code for active regeneration frequency. Has anyone dealt with this issue?

Passive regen is 100% based on driving conditions, so there isn't anything to change to fix that other than driving style.
If you're preforming too many active regens then passive regens likely won't help, it's probably a sensor/DPF.
