I wonder if the designer was trying to go retro-ish with it, I see a vague similarity to the 1st gen C10 in the early 1960s that had the turn markers way high and the lights down low.

Sorry, no V-8 diesel for me. Been there, done that. Six in a row, the only way to tow. They are very quick, I'll give 'em that, but that is not what I buy a truck for.
