Thanks for the reply. 4.44 wouldn't be a bad ratio with 37s either. I actually inquired with the Ram dealer that I purchased the truck from, they were not opposed to doing the swap, the techs seem competent. We'll see what happens.

Got my decked system today. Ordered it on a Thursday and the freight company delivered it the following Friday.

Started installing it and figured out pretty quickly that the top deck would interfere with the gooseneck electrical connection that my truck is equipped with. I could have cut the deck to fit it, but I will never be pulling a gooseneck so I just removed the connector. I will save it to reinstall if I ever sell the decked system and/or the truck.

The deck system was cut out perfectly for the factory tie down cleats and other parts of the bed.

The other areas I had problems with was the lack of clearance to get to the bed lighting switch and clearance for my on board air system I installed.

I decided to clearance cut the decked system to allow more room to get to the switches. My arb on board air switch is right below my bed light switch.

I cut some clearance in the top deck and I also cut one support rib off of the side of the “ammo can”

I relocated my arb quick connect air chuck to a 3/4” hole I drilled behind where the gooseneck plug bolts to the wall. This way I don’t have to shove air hose behind the ammo can and if I ever reinstall the gooseneck plug it will cover the 3/4” hole.

Here is the relocated quick disconnect for the OBA

You may wonder why I didn’t put the QD outside of the vehicle such as on the rear bumper or something. Well, I knew I wanted the switch to be located by the bed light switch and i would have air accessories in the bed. so, if I’m going to have the tailgate down I won’t want to crawl under the tailgate to hook up a hose.

I haven’t finished the install yet but it should go smoothly from here on

Got the decked system installed and started organizing it.

I put air accessories in the right drawer since the air compressor is on the left side of the truck. That way I can have the drawer open and still reach the QD and air switch. Also in the right drawer are ratchet straps, bungees and cord. my jackery power pack is in there and there is room to slide a double rifle soft case up in the front section (still empty)

The left side drawer has jumper cables, gloves and winch remote in the bin. A bag of impact sockets, cordless 1/2” and breaker bar. I will move more tools into this drawer as i continue organizing it. Also, I have my tire plug kit in this drawer. Behind the divider I have recovery gear in a large heavy tote. The least used stuff like climbing rope is furthest toward the cab shoved up in there.

I trimmed my DeeZee mat to fit on top of the decked system since the HDPE top deck isn’t grippy.

Your before and after pics match mine closely except I also have max tracks and a 37" spare and I'm super jealous now.

I’m going to be returning the “piece keeper” attachments that decked sells. They’re a waste of space.

Can Easily slide multiple rifles up under the decked drawer.

Not a whole lot has changed. I picked up Baja designs SAE gen2 fog lights to replaced my SAE gen1 fogs. I sent the gen1 fog lights back to Baja to get retrofitted to squadron sports and installed them on the bumper.

I’ve been running without a front swaybar for probably around 20k miles now and have been super happy. Big improvement to the ride of the truck. A few months back I removed the rear swaybar as well. The truck is still, in my opinion, more stable than my ‘16 tundra that has the aftermarket trd rear swaybar from a previous owner. I also hit the axles with some paint to keep it nice since this is the longest I’ve ever owned a truck

IMG_3372.jpegIMG_3371.jpeg

Other than that just been enjoying the truck. It doesn’t get any miles on it during the week so on the weekend it can be seen at the mall or the park when it’s not pulling the trailer

If anybody is still following along with this truck I’ve been goofing with for 4.5 years here’s the latest

Few months ago I finally ditched the ridge grapplers that I had poor luck with and replaced them with Duratracs. I’d ran them before on a midsize and remembered liking them. On paper they’re a great choice, taller lighter, deeper tread depth and cheaper than the outgoing nittos or really any of the other options. Comparing 285/75-18 load 129Q. They have quite a lot of tread depth.

Immediately leaving the tire shop I was blown away by how much better they rode than the nittos. When I got home I took a closer look to make sure everything was torqued etc and noticed how much weight they took to balance. My tire shop switched from lead weights to steel weights so it looked like a lot but at least they’re black and the tires balanced out smoothly. I still think it’s an excessive amount of weight but I had them re balanced and same outcome.

A few months and couple thousand miles on them and I’m even happier with them. The grip is outstanding for an AT tire. I complained before about ridge grapplers spinning in my yard and even saying I think my LSD was bad on this forum. I have seemingly unlimited amounts of grip from these things in grass, gravel and dirt. They do pick up gravel where the nittos didn’t but I will gladly take that trade off. I back my trailer up my side yard and no longer tear up the grass. The softer sidewalls don’t translate into a wobbly towing experience. I have towed at 45 and 55psi and both were acceptable.

Having put a bunch more towing miles on my truck after deleting both swaybars I can say that the sumos are doing a great job handling any weird road surfaces. There have been a few times when I see undulating pavement and I expect some drama but nothing. Everything is great. Around camp the truck has just enough flex to not worry about ruts and stuff when I have to maneuver the trailer into a spot and the tow rig has to get creative.

In summary, the truck is still working great for me and my needs.

Goodyear duratracs 285/75-28 just shy of a 37”, pics showing size and tread depth and the weight it took to balance them.

And them on the truck and just the tow rig in general so you can see them.

That is great looking truck. I'm thinking the AEV bumper might be in my future this year. The 285/75 18 is really good tire size. I've ran them on several trucks. They do measure up on the taller side of 35s.

It’s a good product, I don’t even want to know how much it costs nowadays

Windrock is fun, was hoping to get the PW down there but that’s out the window for now. Truck is looking great man, really well thought out execution. AEV bumper is a great match for the build, they’re $3k these days I think

I like how the AEV bumper gives you more room in front of the tires. My truck has the AEV lift and 37s, it's a tight fit with the stock bumper. I'm just looking forward to some nicer weather so I can get my truck as clean as RCDs truck!

285/65/20. I play around with sizing as some tires come in different profiles but yeah….$496 each. That’s pricey.

I was checking out the Baja Boss AT and they are around $50 cheaper per tire. Or get some china trash and add 10oz of weight per wheel.

Thats the new version the “RT” that explains the price jump but the originals are less
