Yep, SO engine here. I was thinking the same about that discoloration on the crossover tube - there has been some serious heat in that thing over the years. Luckily now it is just there for decoration for anyone who should choose to inspect it.
Towing is mostly 10K lbs and under since I...
I am on the fence about the soft-rate rear coils (-.5 ride height). I love the way they ride as a daily, but drives me a little crazy that even a 5K trailer now squats quite a bit.
Fox 2.0s are my biggest regret. Should have just gone king 2.5 from the start as the fox are already on...
Finally got around to this install - ran out of steam and did not get to the boost tubes, so maybe in a couple weeks will tackle that and get everything all cleaned up nicely.
Grid heater was still in solid shape, just caked with soot. Unreal how much buildup was in the stock intake horn...
Mine had 295/65 Falken at3w when I bought it on stock suspension. Was a great tire, and I thought a perfect size at stock height with zero rubbing.
Couldn’t help jumping all the way to 37x12.5 after the small level.
Good MPG is over-rated right? Ha
In my case this is the best advice possible. I installed an S&B intake right after I bought mine not realizing the impact it would have on regen frequency.
With S&B I was lucky to get 250 miles or so between soot based regens - after switching back to factory air box with that specific AB...
Took the plunge from a 1500 to a 2500 almost a year ago, and my only regret is not going 3500 now that we are looking to upgrade our travel trailer to a 5th wheel.
Good luck with the decision!
Nice choice! I did the same setup, and with 37's I can still fit in a 7' parking garage which is clutch for all the traveling and airport parking I do. Doesn't even come close to fitting in our garage at home unfortunately.
The buyback seems unlikely based on this thread. Be warned this thread is quite mind blowing and anxiety inducing:

I feel like I remember seeing a post at one point that you are tuned right? Are you going to try getting it warrantied if you take it in?
I have a CP tune in hand, and this is one of the things keeping me from doing it before warranty is up.
